So much good to say about Scripps Inn. Our room feels like I’m at an Airbnb. Very warm and inviting. We enjoyed the ocean views of course. I think best ocean views are from 2nd or 3rd floor rooms but looks like you can see ocean from 1st floor as well. Super friendly employees who have stopped what they were doing to grab extra towels and help with other amenities. They have bikes you can check out and extra beach toys you can borrow. We loved our stay. Would stay here again.

We had a marvelous view of the ocean from our room. It was our home for two nights and it was wonderful. It is such a pristine, lovely room with sea-related decor and a nice fireplace. The bed was quite comfortable, and we also enjoyed sitting at the table by the window. The sea air and the cry of the seagulls were refreshing. The ocean view was unencumbered except by two trees, which just enhanced the view.

I have been at Scripps Inn for thirthy years , sometimes twice a year and always for long stay. My last stay has been a howful experience and I left a day earlier because of it. My room , the one I prefer and an e pensive one , was filled up with worms on the floor, every morning I had to pick up it and killed them. They came inside my luggage and made big hole in a couple of cachemire vest . I told about it and apparently they knew about the problem so my question is " if you pay between 460 and 530 dollar / night why they don't do something about ?" But the worst part has been the attitude of the manager , when I wen to him to show the big hole he literally told me " you are free to go to another place if you don't like it". Of course I am free, but it is not so easy to find a room in La Jolla summer time. So I know I will never go back to my " second home " and I am quite sad about it .

Office closes at 5. Couldn't check in after that. So frustrating! Worst hotel experience ever. Maybe OK if you arrive before 5, Otherwise, stay away! There's a phone outside the office, but if you call the number on the sign you just get a message telling you to leave a message. So helpful!

Beautiful 2 bedroom, well appointed suite with ocean views. Easy check in with lovely host. Beach chairs/towels provided. Unfortunately we had a family in the room above with children running rampant starting at 6:30 in the morning. Wish parents would parent so that guests could enjoy their vacation. No reflection on the inn but note that walls are thin.

I have not stayed here since 2018. I was disappointed to find that the place, or at least the room I was in, has been let go. I love the view and sitting on the porch or deck. But that can't make up for lack of cleaning and maintenance. Specifically, the paint on the ceiling was peeling, many shutter louvers were not connected to the tilt rod, there was mold (or black grout) in the bathroom, one of the sinks in the bathroom had a leak which had been there for a while as there was a stain on the sink, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was very loose and wobbly, and the dust under the bed was thick. :-( I used to love this place, but I won't be staying here again.

The place is very pricey for what’s offered. No daily housekeeping and 18.00/day to park on the property. For 1050.00 for 2 nights, parking should be complimentary. It’s very quiet and the staff is very friendly, but for where it is, it should offer a bit more. Gentleman selling coffee on the corner should not take up a parking spot for guests with his Tesla. Room we stayed in was a bit “dated”. Found some damage upon check in and took photos to make sure we were not charged upon checkout. Couch on living room filthy.

We chose this inn because of its location and were not disappointed. Walk across the street and you are immersed in a shoreline wonderland. The inn is older but well maintained and clean. The staff are very accommodating and pleasant. As we were traveling there, a text was sent to let us know our room was ready early. The parking fee is reasonable and more spaces are available in the back and are easier to navigate. You can hear the other guests coming and going, but at night it was quiet and did not interrupt our sleep at all. The street was also quiet at night and this end of the village appears to be more residential. The room had all the amenities we needed with a comfortable bed , cold mini fridge, plenty of towels, and cozy bathrobes. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay in the Scripps Inn - the location cannot be beat, this is such a beautiful area along the coastal walk! We had a king room (#1) on the bottom floor. No issues at all with the room, we had everything we needed. The coast/beaches are directly across the beach from the hotel, and it was wonderful to listen to the waves all night. We arrived on New Years Day which was very busy in La Jolla, so I was a bit concerned about the noise from the street. There is no traffic on the street at night, so even with the windows open we were fine. Arriving on a busy day, we were happy to have the reserved parking. So nice to walk across the street with our coffee and enjoy the sunrise with no one around! We'd definitely book again on our next trip to beautiful La Jolla.
