Château de Villars

Were I the servant to the traveling bishop scouting for great wine, I'd mark Hotel de Villars with a true 'Est, Est, Est!'—exceptional food, superb accommodation, and warm hospitality in abundance. The hotel and restaurant are housed in a beautifully restored farmhouse, part of the historic castle. The blend of modern elegance with deep respect for history creates a unique atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but the true highlight is the restaurant—offering a reasonably priced 4- or 5-course dinner, a nice selection of local and regional wines, all served by a welcoming staff. For travelers heading south along the A7, the hotel offers a secure car park with ample EV charging points—a thoughtful addition for modern convenience. The owners shared that they will soon begin renovating the château itself. We can't wait to return and experience its full transformation!"

Magical location with comfortable, welcoming and contemporary accommodation. Excellent hospitality from beginning to end and a memorable meal with beautiful ambience and delicious dishes. Beautiful views of the vineyards and Rhône valley on our drive up, the Hotel is in a quiet and peaceful place. Check in was extremely welcoming and all staff we met were friendly and extremely accommodating to our needs. We were in room 7 looking out to the hotel entrance and carpark. The room was modern and clean with quality mattress, pillows and linens, and a smart tv with many channels and films. We were super comfortable and had a great night sleep! Dinner was exquisite and wine reasonably priced, this is the best meal we enjoyed in our trip to France. Waiting staff were excellent and very knowledgeable, we feel so grateful to thier hospitality and they went above and beyond to explain the dishes in English for us. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and also paid attention to the natural ethos of the hotel. What Beautiful grounds they have. We did not see a spa, although I think there may have been one on site? This would have been nice and we will look for this next time. I also would have liked to look around the grounds of the chapel, although I realise this might have been private property! Thank you to everyone at chateau de villars for making our stay so enjoyable, and we wish you a prosperous and successful new year for 2025.

Nous souhaitons remercier les propriétaires de ce lieu pour leur investissement et leur motivation pour nous faire passer de très agréables moments. Leur relationnel , l’attention du personnel et surtout la qualité des mets élaborés sont dignes d’un restaurant gastronomique haut de gamme, accompagné de vins régionaux pécuniairement abordables. La salle est très bien insonorisé en plus d’être majestueuse et admirablement mis en valeur. Le tout est d’un excellent rapport qualité prix . N’hésitez pas à leur rendre visite .

Personnel attentif, cadre exceptionnel, hébergement très confortable et très propre. Il y a, à disposition, une kitchenette commune pour se faire un café, un thé . Les petits déjeuners et repas servis au restaurant sont délicieux. Parfait pour une parenthèse ressourçante en pleine nature.

Excellent accueil, nouvel établissement ouvert depuis 2023, belle chambre avec vues splendides, au calme, literie au top, belle douche à l’italienne avec produits spa Vinesime, resto à l’hôtel l’Oliveraie, à recommander sans hésiter, jacuzzi en pleine nature, dans le parc naturel du Pilat

DANGER !!!! Si le gps vous envoie dans Condrieu, vers une etroite rue en pente ne suivez pas l indication ! Vous allez vous retrouver coincé ! Une riveraine confirme que de nombreuses personnes se sont retrouvées ainsi coincees devant chez elle à cause du gps. L hôtel est prévenu.... mettra t il en garde les clients ? Parking non clôturé. Jacuzzi payant, et que sur rdv. Chambres modernes, grand lit, sdb spacieuse, grands rangements. Mais isolation pouvant être juste : d autres clients discutant dans le couloir nous ont gênés . Et radinisme suprême : pas de bouilloire dans la chambre, il faut sortir sur pallier pour trouver une machine commune et se contenter du seul et unique sachet de thé. Si vous vouliez 2 tisanes c est non. Autre originalité : a 20h le soir vous devez savoir à quelle heure vous prendrez votre petit dejeuner le lendemain et ce que vous mangerez, il faut rendre une feuille remplie à cet effet ! Quand à la reception, c est un bureau avec un ecriteau vous demandant de téléphoner à un numéro à votre arrivée ou de sonner a une sonette ( mais personne ne vient). Pendant ce temps vous patientez dans le noir, le froid, voire la pluie car rien n est abrité . Plus grave, à la reservation l hotesse avait certifié que la chambre ne serait pas débitée sur notre cb, car nous tenions imperativement à regler en especes (conditions absolue pour reserver) . Et bien elle nous a mentit, notre cb a ete debitee de la totalite du sejour. Un homme se presentant comme le directeur a trouvé cela normal puisqu " il nous faut des garanties que vous allez payer". Belle politique commerciale ! On ment au client pour qu il réserve ! Bref, etablissement neuf, qui a fait les choses à minima, et qui ne respecte pas le client.
