This was our first time camping in France - and our first family holiday outside the U.K.! We chose this campsite because of the swimming pool and slides, the children’s playground and bouncy castle, and the distance to the beach. It was also reasonably priced. We stayed in a 2 bed Mahana in C area and it was very comfortable. The kitchenette was perfect to cook meals in, but more cupboard space to store food would be ideal. The beds are comfortable and the showers are good. The location in the trees is really peaceful. We did hear the evening entertainment but it was easy to block out when we wanted to sleep, and our children slept through it too. We enjoyed going to the bar in the early evenings and watching the entertainment, and the children really enjoyed the old fashioned table football, and playing boules. We loved that the swimming pool stayed open until 8pm as this meant we could fit in a day out and still have a swim in the late afternoon. Be warned, it gets very busy after lunch until about 6pm. We never had to wait very long for a lounger to become free, though. The staff are all friendly and helpful, though not much English is spoken, so practice your French before going! We got along fine with our very basic French. Trying is the main thing! The lifeguards at the pool are friendly and approachable, and organise games with the children. The site is only about five-ten minutes drive from Carrefour, Lidl, and the lovely town of La Baule. The beach at La Baule is stunning and not to be missed! Merci beaucoup pour ces merveilleuses vacances, Aloa! À bientôt!
