Clean, comfortable beds and amazing views. The boss works very hard, is friendly and is good for recommendations and any questions. One of the nights he took guests for Yunnan food and a walk around the city, which was great and much appreciated. Very good value for money.

Location, location, excellent location!!! The view from the hostel's balcony is fantastic. It's located just in front of Kunming Park and all the shops, and 5 min. from the subway. More important, it's very, very, very affordable. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, the hostel is very clean (don't forget to bring your own towel ;D), I've met guests from different countries and the hostel made my stay in Kunming a very relaxed one. I've traveled and visited many places around the world, and I would like to recommend very much this hostel.

The location is very good, close to the main attractions and there are a lot of restaurants and convenience stores around. The receptionist is very nice and it seems he puts a lot of effort to keep the place tidy. The room was clean, with a great view, it was very cold there is a little heater (no AC) that you can use but doesn't do much, you are given a pair slide each (no towel given). There are 2 bathrooms for the whole place, 1 man and 1 woman. The squatting toilet, sink and shower are all in the bathroom, there is no toilet paper in the bathroom so you have to buy your own. The bathroom unfortunately is quite dirty, I have seen blood,poop and pee all over the toilet, also it gets blocked quite easily, I myself had to unblocked a couple of times before I could use it. There is very little sound insulation so you can hear people talking and singing in the reception sometimes even until 1am or going to the toilet, so make sure to take earplugs with you. There is no kitchen or fridge but there are 2 washing machines that you can use for 2 RMB. Free water in the reception, sometimes is not available but gets refilled regularly.

This is the best hostel I have stayed in China by far, all thanks to the amazing host who is truly passionate about helping travelers as he is a traveler himself! Everyday he was eager to help with my plans, help other foreigners with food, phone issues, anything that came up. This is also the first place that had a real hostel vibe where it's easy to connect with other travelers (Chinese and foreign) in the common space. I would recommend everyone to stay here in Kunming!
