NAPHUBS Sleep Cabin in Kunming Changshui Airport

The hub is conveniently located within the airport, useful for those needing a quick sleepover for those arriving in the early morning. However, I have given it 4/5 because at 5am, the airport’s Public Address system at the departure hall started broadcasting continuously, making it difficult to sleep well. To be fair, maybe if I have wore the ear plugs that was given at check-in, might help. The lights from the airport ceiling that filters into the capsule was also a little distracting. Nonetheless, the capsule does provide privacy for a sleepover, and the reclining couch/bed is comfortable.

Price is steep. If you just need to stay less than 3 hours, just go there directly as they offer renting in 30-min slots. If you stay for 6 hours, then book for the full night. There’s no clear signage, but you can go up to the 4th floor using the escalator at the start of Isle H (Departure Hall, which is on 3rd floor). They are on the land side, before the security. There is no shower rooms, so don’t have high hope. Toilets are abundant though. You need to walk out of the capsule to get to the toilet so not very convenient if you have small bladder. And what people say here couldn’t be truer- it gets stuffy inside the capsule. There’s only a small fan. For a power nap of a couple of hours in transit, it would do. But don’t expect hotel-style comfort.

I booked for one day as I arrived at 2am and wanted a good rest before travelling on into Kunming later in the day. Very convenient and quite hassle free. The staff are kind and helpful. The digital controls inside are available in english. They even provide slippers, ear plugs, a disposable sheet, eye pads and bottled water. The only negative was the smell of cigarette smoke in some areas in the airport but this was not an issue in the cabin itself.
