Backwater Ripples Kumarakom

Our stay at Backwater Ripples was absolutely wonderful. The resort featured breathtaking views, exciting activities, and unforgettable experiences. The manager, Sindhu, ***** with the entire staff, was highly efficient, exceptionally courteous, and ensured we were well looked after throughout our stay.

The resort is located in a scenic location and has well-developed infrastructure with beautifully designed villas and rooms. The highlight, however, is the top-notch service by the team headed by Ms Sindhu. They ensure that the guests are comfortable and well attended to, at all times. I am a repeat customer and I've lost count of the number of times I have visited. Yet, each time they never fail to delight with their courteousness and service. It feels really peaceful to spend time at their water-front lawn. Overall, this is a must-visit property in Kunarakom, or, even Kerala as a whole.

BWR was a lovely little resort tucked away in the heart of Kumarakom. Ideal getaway to de-stress, soak in the lush greenery and the gorgeous backwaters of God's Own Country. Ask for Sindhu Nair- she's extremely professional and super efficient.

A stay at Backwater Ripples is everything you could want for a relaxing stay in Kumarakom. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and very well taken care of by the staff with a special mention to Ms. Sindhu Nair and Mr. Praveen. From the moment one enters the compounds of Backwater Ripples, there is an immediate sense of calm. I was only staying 1 night and wanted to make the most of my time, so I booked myself onto a speed boat trip to Alleppey. It was a gorgeous trip, where we traversed the waters in between the beautiful house boats. Praveen, the speed boat driver, was friendly and knowledgeable about the area which made for interesting conversation. After an hour on the speedboat, I was greeted by Ms. Sindhu at the lakeside area for tea and snacks. It was very nice to be taken care of in that way. The soft breeze and the setting sun made for a great tea-time atmosphere. Following tea, there was a complimentary ride on a large house boat, this time a slow and relaxing trip watching the sun set on Vembanad Lake. The evening ended with some soft music being performed live on the grounds overlooking the lake. The next morning, I woke up early to ride on the speedboat once again (08:00am is a perfect time to do this), this time to a mangrove forest. The route was scenic and we saw many types of birds, it was a true highlight for me on this trip. Many thanks to Praveen, who was very kind to give a great experience both times on the boat. The room I stayed in was spacious and airy with a great view of Vembanad Lake and it was situated at a perfect distance to the on-site restaurant (always an important aspect for a foodie ). The food was well prepared and I got to taste appam and chicken stew, which is a traditional dish made in these parts of Kerala. It was a true delight and the restaurant staff were ever friendly and helpful. After the stressful journey I had getting to India, a 1 night stay at Backwater Ripples was just what I needed to unwind and prepare myself for the rest of the exciting holiday that was ahead of me. My husband and I stayed for 1 night in November 2024. It was a very special stay. Room was great, comfortable and clean. Service was exceptional, always available to make sure all our needs were met. They have a game area with a variety of games, a big pool, boat rides in the evenings, live music, and a nice bar. The best part for us was the aurvedic spa treatment! It was a great experience. The restaurant has a variety of foods which is great for all. We especially enjoyed the spring rolls! I definitely recommend booking at Backwater Ripples.

I highly recommend this place. The staff is polite, service oriented and highly professional. I had an amazing experience. The food quality was excellent, great ambiance and excellent esthetics. Sindhu at the reception makes you feel welcome. Just a minor suggestions ( but not a big deal) the fridge in the room was making a humming sound; and it was not easy to activate tv channels. In summary, a great place which you will thoroughly enjoy both sole and with family.
