This was a deeply rejuvenating stay that combined luxury, wellness, and cultural immersion. Chef Arun was a star, making our dining experiences truly special with delicious, locally-inspired dishes. The Ayurveda treatments here were incredible—Dr. Anjali guided us through the principles of Ayurveda, and the hot oil massages were among the best we’ve ever had, especially the Shirodhara treatment (hot oil poured over the forehead) which was deeply relaxing. She also gave me a private little lesson about Ayurveda. This was an incredible educational experience! Our daily yoga routine with Atukrishna was a highlight. Morning yoga was energizing, and evening pranayama at sunset by the backwaters added a meditative end to our days. The cultural houseboat tour (hotel arranged) was another must-do. It wasn’t just a ride—locals demonstrated how to climb coconut trees, make traditional Kerala snacks, and tap toddy (a natural alcoholic beverage). The “Toddy Out!” experience was fun and unique. One important note: the resort does not serve alcohol, but there’s a short walk next door where you can buy some if needed. The main pool was pleasant, though the real star was the serene backwater setting, making it a perfect place to unwind. If you’re looking for a blend of relaxation, culture, and wellness, this is an excellent choice.
