Hotel Klea

Spent a couple of nights here, fantastic location, very friendly and helpful host and lovely local food. Staying within that castle was truly memorable and we had lovely sunsets. The terrace is a great place to spend the evening Don’t hesitate to stay here

The Hotel Klea restaurant was fabulous and located on the top of the spectacular hill within the castle’s ancient walls. The restaurant itself was outside, a beautiful ambience with lots of greenery and a charming son-of-the-owner to chat to! The food was traditional Albanian and fine.

If you got service like this everywhere, the world would be a better place. The staff were fantastic and very attentive of our every need. We arrived late and very lost and Kseno drove down to meet us in the town to guide us to the entrance of the hotel in the walls of the castle. His service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. His mother was also wonderful and the food was amazing, we had breakfast each morning and dinner one night. All of the food was tasty and plenty of it. The rooms were clean and comfortable and I could not rave about this hotel more, highly recommended.

Possibly the nicest place I have ever stayed. Was doing a driving trip around the Balkans and had been to Berat 4 years ago and eaten here and promised myself I would go back and stay, It did not disappoint. We had a lovely dinner and one of the best sleeps I had on the holiday. The breakfast was lovely and we had it in the rose garden at the front. If you can stay in room 104, literally the best view you will ever have while sitting on the toilet! Shout out to Kseno the host who treated us so well, a real gent. Also, the price was bonkers you could charge twice the price to stay here and it would still be cheap! I will be back.

10-13/jun Belonging to a family, my wife and I felt very well taken care of during our 3-day stay in june 2022. Being inside of the Berat Castle was very calm peaceful. Their rooms have an average size and are very comfortable. Breakfast is very good, with their homemade jams (reçeli). The restaurant is open for non-guests, and we had an amazing lamb and very fresh salad for dinner. Mother cooks, father brews the wine, son makes the ice cream dessert. Amazing, isn't it? Free parking in front of the hotel. No minifridge or TV. We could pay using credit card.

We stayed here for one night in May 2022 and it was a great choice. The hotel is located inside the castle and has a great entrance leading upto it. Xenofon, the host is very friendly and got us settled right away - Suggested we visit the Onufri Museum while the room was setup. We came back to have some delicious lunch in the very pretty rose garden . Food was wonderful - our first introduction to traditional Albanian Cuisine which we loved. The room was great - clean room , clean bathroom , great hot water. Staying inside the castle has it's advantages - like seeing the viewpoint at night - it was better than the day time view ! Breakfast was sumptuous , again my first introduction to Caj Mali which became an obsession for me during the trip. Great location, Great host, Great food - will recommend!
