Ocean Breeze Boutique Hotel & Marina

I was shocked to read in the welcome letter that the hotel only cleans your room once every 3-4 days. They also ask you to turn off the AC when you leave the room. The heat, humidity and lack of air circulation in your room was a toxic mix for the garbage for smells, bugs, and germs. On the fourth day, I had to go to reception to demand that the room be cleaned. The maid didn't come until 5pm. Otherwise, the hotel was clean, suitably decorated with friendly and helpful staff.

Good service. Loved it. Good food at the restaurant. Had some internet issues in the beginning. A tall guy with dreads came by the room to fix it and he even checked upon us after he was finished. Would definitely book again when we plan our vacation.

Honestly there must be dozens of better places to stay on Bonaire. Location is convenient as it is right across from the airport. It is within 10 minutes driving distance of downtown. It is located a few minutes away from a Dive Friends Bonaire shop, which is important for scuba divers. The downsides: 1) Housekeeping was nonexistent. We were there for 8 or 9 nights and housekeeping appeared to stop by 3 times, aka every three days. We are no longer in COVID times, so this is simply laziness on the part of the hotel. While I don't necessarily a super fancy service every day, how about at least replenishing the towels and taking the trash out? Too much to ask for this place. We had to repeatedly ask them for everything and anything related to housekeeping. 2) Front desk was utterly unhelpful with just about everything. First of all the young girls who are sitting there like to "disappear" into the room adjacent to the check in counter, and they all have a bit of an attitude. Every time we went up there to exchange towels, or place our luggage there, or etc, nobody was sitting at the check in desk - even in broad daylight at times like 1:30. Someone would finally pop their head out after a minute or two and it felt like we were greatly inconveniencing them by asking them for the most basic of items. These girls could use a lesson on customer service. 3) Hot water pressure is fine, but it was very difficult to control the temperature. We would have scalding water for a few minutes, then it would level off to a comfortable temperature, and then within 5-10 minutes would become immediately lukewarm and/or cold. Not ideal when you have several people returning from diving wanting to shower. 4) Very old kitchenware. The knives were exceptionally dull and would barely even cut up fruit. 5) Queen beds are really two twin beds squashed together and covered with sheets. There was still a gigantic crevasse in between the two beds. My husband and I kept rolling into this crevasse every night. Completely uncomfortable. Honestly, I was very unimpressed by this place and think there are dozens of other places to stay at on the island with better service and amenities.
