Tub Kaek Beach
Review This hotel is like a tropical paradise it’s what you imagine when you think of Thailand, it’s a beautiful hotel located on tubkaak beach, it’s very green and very photogenic. (You will use a lot mosquito spray) The rooms are like little huts located on the hotel grounds. We only stayed here 2 nights, as we are on the last leg of our vacation. The room is nice and comfortable but no means perfect there is an outdoor bathtub which I have never understood (outdoor bathtubs seem to be popular in Asia) and the shower is a rainwater shower which is fixed to the wall, I personally would prefer a non fixed shower head. The door to our room is locked with a padlock from the outside not a key and the inside there is a plank of wood that you slide across to close the door and the doors do not fully close leaving it with a gap large enough to let little creatures in, and is not very secure, so we ended up barricading the door with a suitcase at night to keep the door from opening. But the room was a sea view well presented but a little smaller than the picture indicated. In the morning it is quite noisy though as there appears to be a lot of ground staff and guests walking about the grounds talking really loudly without any consideration to the other guests so be warned. There also appeared to be someone trying to do some maintenance to a boat motor at 8:00am which is quite loud. The Pool area is nice but nobody seemed to be at the pool in the morning only us and another couple ( who didn’t stay long), a lot of people seem to be at the beach or on the sun loungers on their balcony. The Beach area was slightly more busier than the pool with beanbags on the beach, which was nice and you get waiter service also, the sea seems to be at low tide after 3-30pm on this side of the coast but it was a nice beach nevertheless with lovely white sand. When the tide is goes out the pool area comes to life with many of the guests migrating to the pool area. The internet is adequate but could be better as on occasion it faded out. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel. Breakfast is outstanding I really enjoyed it with good selection of baked and cooked items available and the bacon was not overcooked either. We only had lunch at the resort not dinner so I can’t comment on that but lunch was well presented but a little over priced. The room comes with tea, coffee, kettle, a coffee machine, biscuits a mini bar which some items are complimentary, you also get the usual slippers a robe, beach towels and a bag an umbrella, bathroom amenities etc a safe and there is also a TV and a Bluetooth speaker. This hotel is very isolated though and in the middle of nowhere and located miles and miles from any shops and restaurants, there literally is nothing around at all, so if that’s what you’re looking for then this hotel is perfect for you, if you want something a bit more lively or you want to walk to the shops, then I suggest you stay somewhere else, We only stayed her

Overall a really excellent hotel. It was very quiet when we arrived (only a few other couples and families were occupying the other villas). The staff were excellent and really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We had to move rooms because there was some excess noise from a pool pump room at the back of our villa but the staff were very understanding and accommodating (had it been busier then this probably wouldn't have been possible). The breakfast was fantastic and the free shuttle bus to the beach was a great addition. The location is perfect - you can walk to the beach in about twenty mins or so and there's plenty to see and do along the way. The only disappointment was the gym facilities and the fact that there was no bar but other than that it was a great hotel.

We had previously booked this hotel for a 2020 visit before Covid ruined those plans, so we were looking forward to our eagerly awaited holiday in Thailand. We had decided to travel during the Songkran (Thai new year) festivities, which were unbelievable. So much fun! Our 13 year old daughter (can I say daughter nowadays!!!) had the best time of her life shooting water everywhere. The Thai people, always smiling, are simply amazing. Now, ok, this is a hotel review. We had booked a pool access room by the fantasy pool (the one with the slides). Simply, unless you like people clambering over YOUR small terrace, taking photos while stood on YOUR terrace, jumping in the pool from YOUR terrace, trying to get to their room next door across YOUR terrace, don’t waste your money. It was disgusting, utterly intrusive and bloody ignorant. There are no barriers (and there should be) between the rooms/terraces to prevent this. A joke! We had two sun loungers on the terrace (which people climbed over too) but they were in the shade all the time. Rooms 127 to 131 get no sun at this time of year, so again if you’re a sun worshipper don’t waste your money. The wifi is abysmal. It says somewhere in the room, don’t wait to get home to complain about something, ask the staff! We complained about the wifi almost every day until we gave up. They advertise (incorrectly) that there’s wifi available in all areas. A total lie! The only place you were guaranteed wifi was in the reception area. Or the Green Pepper restaurant across the road!!! I had to pay for 5G everyday to do some work for my business back home!!! And then I get charged for having my room an extra hour on checkout! So much for customer service. A recent reviewer said the breakfast was amazing. No, adequate is the word you’re looking for. It didn’t matter what time you visited, it was packed out, nowhere to sit, no cutlery, no plates, no cups, no food. Everyday we had to ask staff for this, that and the other to be replenished. There was just not enough staff. Apart from 5 behind reception!! On a plus, the room itself was fairly nice with a comfy bed. It could do with more drawer space and more hangers in the wardrobe. Oh and the plug didn’t work in the bathroom sink. On a plus plus, the bar staff at the fantasy pool bar were awesome. A special massive thank you to Soe who was brilliant. One final note, please Ananta Burin Manager/owner, please don’t reply to this review patronising me. This review is a true and honest review. There needs to be changes at this hotel before we ever return. Sorry Soe.
