Newton's Neelakanta Boutique Beach Resort

We stayed at The Neelakanta Beach Resort, Kovalam, from 31st January to 2nd February, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences ever. Apart from the beautiful beach view, everything else was a disaster. 1. Rooms & Amenities – A Joke! The rooms may seem well-equipped, but half the amenities don’t work. Our kettle was broken, and instead of replacing it, the staff tried to fix the old one and told us to "handle it with care"—as if it was our fault! The electrical sockets were all loose, and we were left struggling with just one working socket for all our charging needs. 2. Bathroom Horror – No Hot Water, Leaking Flush! The bathroom was a nightmare. No hot water for two days! The mixer was broken, and they just didn’t care. Flush leaked for 30 minutes after every use. At one point, there was no running water for 15-20 minutes—imagine that in a hotel! Even after repeated complaints, nothing was fixed on time. We had to keep running to the reception like we were staff, not guests! 3. Pathetic Service & Rude Staff – Zero Hospitality! Slowest service ever! We had to personally go to reception multiple times because they wouldn’t deliver even the most basic requests (like a complimentary water bottle). 4.Staff is incredibly rude and arrogant! No sense of hospitality at all. Restaurant staff is the worst! They were only interested in selling fish, completely ignoring guests' needs. 5.Restaurant Scam – Overpriced & Slow! Same dish, different prices! Yellow dal cost ₹250 for room service but ₹200 in the restaurant. What kind of scam is this? They have only ONE cook, so expect a minimum 1-hour wait for your food. Absolutely ridiculous for a hotel of this scale! 6.Disgusting Swimming Pool – Full of Dead Fish! The swimming pool was filthy and completely unusable. Even worse, crows were flying around carrying dead fish and dropping them into the pool! Absolutely unhygienic and disgusting. 7.Location – Good, But Comes With a Hassle Yes, the hotel is right in front of Hawah Beach, but be prepared to walk 200-300 meters from the parking lot since cars don’t go all the way to the hotel. Not suitable for elderly people or those with mobility issues. Final Verdict – Avoid This Hotel at All Costs! 🚨 This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Terrible service, rude staff, unhygienic conditions, and broken amenities. If you think a view is enough to save your vacation, think again! Staying here can completely ruin your trip. Rating: 0.5/5 (only for the view, everything else is a disaster!)

Location is fantastic. We stayed in a presidential suite and it is spacious, bed is good view is beautiful. How ever no WiFi in the room. First day no telephone working no tv in working condition. At night no water. We collect some in a bucket to flash the toilet. Second day the fix telephone and tv and water supply but not the WiFi. No happy

3star only for its location....the location is amazing... bilkul beach k samne...room mai bed pai se beach view enjoy kr skte ho ...isk alawa service is poor...warms in Tap water..no cleaning...there were many crows in breakfast area..if u want beach side resort then go for it otherwise just skip it

The staff is so bad and impolite. They didn’t carry luggage at time, luggage was bring to us after more than an hour Room is good but lobby is awful Staff didn’t respond properly We booked a deluxe room, then at the time of check in they says that rooms are not available only suite and executive are available Either we have to go to less view room or pay extra money to get better view We told the staff to bring the extra bed 3PM Its now 8:30 PM they didn’t bring it On call they just say sorry We are continuously calling them every half an hour, all things just going on repeatedly.

Overall the hotel was ok. The room had a nice view in front of the ocean and location was very good in the middle of Light House Beach road. No roomservice during our 4 nights stay and there were small ants everywhere. Staff was not good at english and some had a very difficult time forcing a smile to their face but luckily some of them were helpful and smiling. The wifi wasn’t working and during both night and day there were loud noises from renovation of the hotel. One night I woke up several times in the night due to this.

Hotel Neelakanta is a lovely place, the staff are friendly and can’t do enough to assist you. Has one of the best views of the beach and ocean you could have. Great pool to relax that gets cleaned daily and on-site restaurant with fantastic food and drinks. The room has massive comfy bed that’s nice and soft, the bathroom is of western style and has great amenities available. It’s a perfect getaway for a week to just relax.
