As we had an exceptionally low price, we were not expecting too much, but upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. The resort is quite pretty and has a variety of flowering shrubs and trees, with highly scented trees below our balcony ( which was reasonably sized and furnished) The room itself was a good size, with two large double wardrobes, but the bathroom needed renovation. We were surprised to find we had a bath with over bath shower, but when we asked about a bath plug, we’re told it was illegal to give one?Unfortunately, the bath was quite narrow and the shower head a little difficult for anyone over 6foot, the wash basin was not much use either as the plug once inserted couldn’t be raised. The food quality left a lot to be desired, but was reasonable most of the time, but the fried eggs were always uncooked and you had to ask to have it cooked properly. The home made burgers were sometimes edible ,but frequently undercooked. The home made “pork kebabs”, not the ones on skewers, were sometimes dangerously undercooked, resulting in me having food poisoning for 24 hours ( they tasted fine at the time until I saw they were almost raw). We were disappointed with the so called themed restaurants, which were not available for 5 days, and then only an Italian one, which gave a choice of 3 dishes of a poor standard, and we could see that most people either turned and left, or had a snack and went for dinner. All staff were good, despite no supervisors having a clue about their job. We actually had words with the bar manager about the way he bullied his staff, but he could see what we were getting at. Mastachari itself is nothing to comment on as it is small with a few nice places, but quite dirty. The area is quite agricultural and as walkers we were disappointed as there was not a lot to see, and it was quite hard to find out the ferry sailings and bookings, and there was only information about the bus to Kos. Incidentally, although slightly more expensive, the bus from the hotel is more convenient and you get a seat, as opposed to the service bus which is a 20 minute walk, and packed to capacity. Overall, this resort was good value for what we paid with EasyJet, but is not quite 4* although I am aware that not all rooms are the same. The customer base appears mostly German, Dutch, and Eastern European, which is probably whey not even BBC world was not available, b it the Turkish News channel was adequate. WiFi is not the best and is only available outside the bar or reception, this wasn’t a major problem as we knew in advance it would only be in reception, so a bonus, and I was able to download Netflix as entertainment was not the best, apart from Greek Night, which was good.
