Aegean View Aqua Resort

To start the WiFi is very poor almost non-existent. The hotel lobby and outside looks nice however the inside of the rooms are outdated, and the cleaning standards are low. I am surprised that this is a four star hotel as the experience was two stars. After showering and leaving the window open the bathroom still seems to overflow with water due to lack of ventilation. For three guest we were given two plates of food as we arrived after midnight. There was multiple insects in the room , we requested to change room but it was not given. Their was more issues , however if I listed them it would be very time consuming.

Myself & 2 children visited the hotel mid August as a last minute cheap deal. I wasn’t sure what to expect with it being on the cheaper side but I know a holiday is what you make it. We arrived late evening/early hours & check in was swift enough. There were some cling filmed ham & cheese sandwiches that we could help ourselves to, I lifted one & there was a wasp in the bottom which wasn’t the best start. Again, probably not the standard I’m used to for an all inclusive hotel but it was something (fortunately having 2 kids I always pack extra snacks in the case!) We were given directions to our room, what a nightmare that was! There are no signs around the hotel with the room numbers on so I had to wing it with 2 kids & 3 suitcases. Took us quite a while to find our room, we were uphill & up a flight of stairs which was exhausting solo however the view made up for the stairs! The lighting could have been better outside the room - had to use my phone torch to put the key in. The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us, 2 A/C units. My daughter shared the double bed with me & my son had a single in the joining room. Wardrobe was big enough to unpack all of our clothes in to. The tv in the bedroom didn’t work - when the kids turned this on it had been smashed. We didn’t have a remote for the other tv. The A/C unit in the bedroom was great, really cold however was positioned next to the bed above our heads so it was too cold (dare I moan!) & on the first night started leaking water really badly which woke me up. I reported this to reception & they did fix it which was good. The bathroom was ok, the bath was tiny & the shower was basic, the issue we had was the water from the plug hole leaking out from underneath the bath & flooding the bathroom. Doesn’t look as if it’s plumbed into a waste pipe, just went into a grill on the floor beneath the bath. We lost water temporarily once during our stay. The electricity however was frequently on & off every evening around 6pm-9pm when everyone was obviously getting ready. This made the shower go hot which wasn’t great when my children were in there! The balcony we had overlooked a beautiful pool which was never overly busy as there as so many around the grounds. But the view! Wow! Absolutely stunning & I would go again for that. The hotel itself feels more like villas than a hotel with how many different buildings there are spread across the landscape. If you don’t mind a hill you’ll be fine! The top aqua park pool again hosted more stunning views, I always managed to get sunbeds at around 9am but it was definitely quieter up there in the afternoon. The pool is big so plenty of room & the slides were ok, 3 slides for the kids to use, they are turned off briefly over lunch. The aquapark snack bar was minimal, never had an issue with the ladies who worked there & they were always friendly. My kids loved the toasties & were huge fans of the chocolate cake. Drinks were fine & a coffee machine too. Only issue

We booked to go here for family holiday 28th June - 5th July 2024, we booked 3 rooms for 6 people. We emailed the hotel after we booked and asked.if we could possibly have the rooms as close together as possible. We had a late flight and by the time we got through the airport and on the transfer bus it was 9pm, the transfer times said can take upto 55 minutes to the hotel however it took 1hr 40mins. On arrival they told us we only had 2 rooms booked but after a bit of back and forth we sorted this out and they provided the 3rd room however this then meant that the 3rd room was on the opposite side of the complex. This was more an inconvenience, but the complex is quite big. As we were all inclusive by the time we arrived the restaurant had closed but it was stated that there was a snack bar that was open until 12 midnight, after dropping of our bags we headed to the bar area and asked where the snack bar was, we were told that the snack bar was the main bar and they provided cheese and ham toasties, but what they actually provided is a ham and cheese sandwich and the use of a toastie maker that had been turned off and took over 20mins to heat up and then you could toast it yourself. So after a couple of drinks and a half toasted toastie we headed for bed. Around 2.30am I woke to my son calling my phone, he was in the apartment that was away from the other 2, he said people just walked into his room and they were saying that this was there room, so back to reception and after some more back and forth they moved the couple to another room. The rooms are apartment style accomodation in blocks of 4, 6 and 8. Rooms were clean but a little dated and there's something wrong with the way they've done the showers as the bathroom floor floods every time you shower. The restaurant and food were excellent and had plenty of choice. Staff were always happy and friendly. Entertainment was not the greatest but the entertainer Mikey was really good and made the limited events enjoyable. Pool areas were clean, never any shortage of sunbeds and all had parasols. There is a free shuttle bus that runs into Kos marina 9am to 3pm daily , it would have been good if it operated later to be able to go into Kos town in the evenings (it's about 4km and the roads are not the greatest and bit of a windy maze, I definitely wouldn't want to walk it in the dark). Taxis are a bit hit and miss from the hotel you can wait upto an hour for one or if you pre book a time then it costs extra, we pre booked 2 (6 people) for 8.30am to go on a boat trip and only 1 turned up ( BIG THANK YOU to the hotel shuttle bus driver that took us down and got us to the boat on time ).

We booked this hotel and then I read the reviews. To say I was apprehensive of going is an understatement, But when we got there it soon changed. We had the BEST time. Yes it could do with some odd jobs to make it perfect but nothing that will ruin the holiday. Our room wasn't the biggest but we didn't spend that much time in the room, it was enough for 2 adults and a 5 year old. I wouldn't recommend it if you have mobility struggles as some of the rooms are up a hill and the water park is at the top but that didn't phase us. The food can be a bit hit and miss but there was always something enjoyable. There is a shop on site and the town isn't far. The hotel have a free shuttle bus that takes you into the town and brings you back every hour until 15:00 but a taxi back was only 10 euros if you fancied a longer stay in town. MASSIVE shout out to Mikey Mikey and the entertainment team, they were fabulous every single day and get everyone involved in games in the day, mini disco at night, and adult games at night I can't praise them enough. An in all we had an amazing holiday and all I can say is ignore the bad reviews and give the hotel a chance.

Set in the hills overlooking Psalidi and kos town. Has its own shuttle bus to Kos Town runs every hour from 0900 to 1500. All inclusive resort, to be fair have done AI in Caribbean and it was a lot better food and drink wise there than Greece. Resort staff friendly and helpful, mini market on site. The activity team led by Mikey entertaining. Would recommend for families as a number of pools to choose from if you don’t like the beach.

Look at the map outside reception to find your room before you start looking for your room. Receptionist instructions aren’t the best and there is no signage towards rooms and guidance. Quite slippy unsafe tiles, take care when walking around. Also hidden steps with no warning quite dangerous in the dark when trying to find room. I wouldn’t recommend this holiday for anyone with accessibility requirements, or bad limbs. Lots of steps, there are some slopes but tiles are so slippy I wouldn’t trust them. Food selection really good. They have some authentic Greek foods if you want them. But also Italian/British style foods as well if you’re a fussy eater I.e plain pasta, chips etc. also I was very impressed regarding food safety and hygiene. There was someone regularly going round checking temps of food, everything looked clean also. Tip for air con in the room is to use the jet mode to give it a boost. They have a screen in the poolside bar area which did have England games on. I travelled in international break so this was quite good. Channel selection in room is very limited, just a few English news channels and a music channel. However I didn’t mind this. Drink selection was ok, varied amount of cocktails. FYI No Malibu, but they did run based cocktails (some premixed). Red, white and rose wine, beer is quite light and easy to drink. Coffee machine and hot water available to help yourself to throughout the day which was quite good. Information sheet states Sunday no room service but they still knock and come round. Overall out of summer holidays and if you can get this place at a good rate it’s more than worth every penny. The service in general isn’t great, although the staff work hard they either overdo interaction or no interaction at all.
