Porto Bello Beach

Overall this hotel is excellent for a 4 star. We had a lovely holiday, thank you TUI Things done well * Food quality was amazing for a buffet all you can eat * Staff everywhere very pleasant and helpful * Room cleaning do an excellent job every day * Rooms are spacious and quiet * Location from the airport is close and the hotel is right on the beach * Aquatica splash park is amazing * Kids love the night time entertainment Things to be improved / suggestions * No gym or exercise facility * Not many day time pool activities * No toddler club facility and kids club facility is basic and could use an upgrade * Pools could use heating when it’s not quite hot enough towards end of summer season But again it’s a great hotel and recommended for a family break

We just had a week here. I travelled with my adult daughter. We arrived around 9pm on Wednesday night. We were greeted at the desk by Efthimis who is an excellent front of house, we were advised by him to go and grab some dinner as the restaurant closed at 9.30pm, so we left our passports with him to compete our check in and enjoyed a lovely dinner (Asian night) then when we returned to the desk our check in was complete, and a porter took our bags and showed us to our room (126). (We found premade sandwiches in our little fridge which was a nice touch if we hadn’t made it for dinner.) My daughter had booked a family room as it was the only one available when she booked and it was a really spacious room. There were twin beds in one room and a double in the other room with a balcony each and wardrobe space in each, with plenty of hangers. The blackout curtains were amazing. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room but daily bottles of water were topped up in fridge. No iron or ironing board but you could request them from reception. The hairdryer in the bathroom was the type you expect, so if you need a decent hairdryer, bring your own. The beach which is a short walk from the pool area is sandy with plenty of sun loungers which were available pretty much anytime of day. No need to go and reserve a lounger at 8am etc and also by the pool the sun loungers were also available anytime we wanted them. We had a joint spa treatment with Sissy and Sofia on Friday afternoon and it was the most relaxing hour or so of my life. I highly recommend a treatment at the spa. The food in the main restaurant was always plentiful and varied. I honestly never had a bad meal whether it be breakfast lunch or dinner. The only downside being how many parents think it’s okay to let their babies/toddlers scream while ignoring them when everyone is trying to enjoy a meal. The restaurant is very echoey and the noise is so jarring after 20 mins or so. I recommend trying to get a table on the balcony as the noise isn’t so bad out there. You have to use a QR code to book any of the a la carte restaurants, (the QR code is at reception and you can only book the restaurant a day in advance.) The Italian (Mezzo Mezzo) you are permitted to book only once and after our visit on our 2nd night I wouldn’t have gone back anyway. The service was rushed (they want you to have the starters, main and dessert ready to order before they even ask if you want a drink) it’s odd. Every single night it is half empty with no atmosphere, but it states it’s fully booked when you book through the QR code. It seems they only use half the tables available, then still rush you out. All alcoholic and soft drinks are to be paid for here. The Greek (Taverna) was so much better and I highly recommend the Gyros, the chef made a vegetarian one for my daughter at our request, the staff were relaxed and chilled and we booked a few more times here as it was so lovely. The hotel was amazing and always clean, the food was good and the staff were very hospitable, as a 19 year old it’s usually hard to find things to do in the day to keep myself entertained but it was different here thanks to Erwin who is a part of the entertainment team here who gave me a friend to play football and water polo with. The bar staff in both the lounge bar and the pool bar were great and friendly and provided fast service leaving nothing to complain about.

Hands down the best holiday we have been on. Hotel was clean, food was beautiful, right next to the beach. The animation team was the best and went all out to make sure everyone had a good time. My son loved au and can’t wait to go back next year. The only downfall is the at the mini disco most of it wasn’t in English so we didn’t understand what was going on and the staff from alpiclub activities I think it’s called who never spoke to us the whole time we was their especially Eleanor who we felt she went out of her way just to ignore us but spoke to everyone else. Also some of the other guests can be quite rude pushing in the ques. Apart from that fab holiday see you next time

I can't recommend this hotel enough, we had a 10 night stay after booking through Tui. The room was spacious and had an amazing sea view that wasn't expected. We didn't use the pool as we much prefer the beach, however the pool looked lovely. The beach always had plenty of sun loungers and generally it's a beautiful beach. The sea is very shallow and perfect for kids too. There was sometimes a queue at the beach bar, but the bartenders always worked hard to get it down quickly. We went to the Greek, Italian and Mediterranean restaurants, all of which were very good. Unlike most all inclusive hotels, you have unlimited visits to the speciality restaurants. The cocktail list is also extensive. The on site water park was great, it isn't somewhere we'd spend more than half a day at a time at, but it was still enjoyable. We really enjoyed the entertainment, we took part in the Yoga on the beach, volleyball and watched a few of the singers in the main bar of an evening, that were very good. We did a few of the trips including the adults only 3 island trip and Zia by night, both of which were fantastic. We also rented a car from the hotel for €70 and went to Kos town for the day. There was also Kardamena town that we walked into and had a nice meal on the harbour. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, the staff, the food and the amenities are all fantastic. I wouldn't listen to any negative reviews, this is one of the best hotels we've been to.

The hotel is very clean. It’s a family hotel. Too many people for the size of the facilities so can feel quite busy, sometimes it’s a struggle to get a table at the bar, loungers etc. Most reviews talk about paying for a safe, only getting limited bookings for free at the restaurants and having to pay at the beach bar. In June 2024 everything was free for us except for the bar in the water park, spa and the expensive corner shop. Rooms look nice. The storage is ok. Shower is amazing. Air con is strong and really quiet. Has a TV with a couple of English channels, the rest are German. The noise from people walking past your room to get to theirs is very loud, not great for light sleepers - not sure the hotel can change this as it was down to the individual guests. There is a fridge and hairdryer but no kettle or iron in the room. Main buffet restaurant was amazing at first, lots of choice, decent food but ended up being repetitive and by the end of the holiday we couldn’t wait to go home and have something different. It’s mainly healthy Greek food with pizzas and a very good kids section. Needs more high quality meats like steak, chicken breast etc. Deserts are amazing. There are three restaurants other than the main buffet - a Greek, an Italian and a Mediterranean (offering more of a fish buffet only at lunch time) - you have to book the day before and we had no problems booking into these and the staff and food were excellent. I do feel a steak house and maybe an Asian restaurant instead would have been a nice change as the food is similar all round. Breakfast is fantastic but you get served a very small cup of coffee and have to chase staff for another small cup. Would have been nice to be able to serve myself as I like a lot of coffee. There is a toddler pool and a main pool. There is no life guard which I cannot even comprehend and is a massive safety issue, have never ever been to a pool that doesn’t have a life guard. They are very clean. Salt water which I prefer. The toddler pool was too shallow for our 4 year old but she couldn’t stand anywhere in the main pool. Beds are all reserved by 8:30am but some do free up around lunch on most days. The flooring around the pool is pebbledash and hurts your feet. Water park is small but very good and is free, the lazy river and kids pool were frequented by our little one and she thoroughly enjoyed the slides in the kids pool there. We did not really use the rest of the park due to the age limits. Beach was completely covered by sun loungers from top to bottom, but the water is the most calm and clear I’ve ever seen. Fish swim around you so once you are in the water it is beautiful. View of the islands from the beach is stunning. Again no life guard! With regard to drinks, there was only one type of everything. Beer is ok. White wine and Prosecco are nice. Didn’t like the red wine. Cocktails are like the ones you get from nightclubs rather than ones you get at restaurants and cocktail
