Continental Palace

This hotel was listed as a four star but definitely not! Let’s start with the restaurant, firstly great that it opened til 9.30 so arrived in time to eat BUT food was mediocre and buffet was lacking in anything substantial the meat was often too tough to eat and food choice was limited and strange mixes with dishes of Brussels sprouts alongside the usual chips which were fallen on by diners unable to find anything to eat! Replenishment was slow. I was unwell twice after eating. Three of waiting staff were lovely and hard working, one however was grubby and a space invader standing far too close and demanding payment for water whilst we were still eating so not good. He also got into the very small lift with us with a trolley standing on my foot! Poured our water splashing it all on the table. The kitchen porter spent his time oggling the young female guests very openly and quite Leary. The room was supposed to be a twin but had bunk beds in so felt crowded and was overlooking the laundry which meant being woken at 7am by them shouting! Cleaners good but sheets unchanged towels changed and a good size Outside bar and lounge bar staff in the main hard working and one in particular very smiley and nice. Entertainment was poor only two night a rock duo and a karaoke were good rest were room clearers. Pool excellent no saving sunbeds and plenty for everyone. Lounges inside quite tatty furniture with cat scratches. Snack bar staff excellent and snacks good and reasonably priced. Local area very few shops Nellys bar good but pricey. Close to sea just across a very busy road, no one slows down and bikes and scooters will mow you down! All in all not as good as expected have been to far better 3 star hotels would definitely not class this as four star

The hotel was lovely but basic and rooms are very dated. The beds were awful like sleeping on a rock. The food was ok breakfast was a choice of 4 mains ie eggs,sausage, soft boiled eggs, hard boiled eggs, there was also pancakes, bread, and a few pastries. Evening was a choice of 4 mains and 4 sides also a selection of deserts. In my opinion the food choice was not suitable for size of hotel. Pool area was fantastic NO fights for sunbeds their is plenty. The location is perfect The beach is just across the road, the walk into the harbour and town is 15mins. NOW for the bad bit. We had no hot water for four days, the hotel offered us a room to shower in on day 3 after we complained again ‍♀️. The reception staff had to put up with alot of angry people but erini manage it well, too be fair the manager was lovely sent us a gift bag to say sorry and also gave us late check for free. The entertainment could be improve because it was poor. The bar area is perfect for better entertainment plenty of space for a PROPER greek night would be good, the bar staff were lovely and we had a good laugh with all 3 of them and I still think it's a devil tattoo (he knows who I mean ) . There is a taverna just to the right hand side just past the supermarket outside the hotel gorgeous food and lovely service. Anyone who is due to go on holiday the continental palace is a lovely hotel and you will have a lovely time as long as your expectations aren't too high

We stayed here last week and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our first room was not great with broken drawers,which weren’t fixed, lights which were fixed and overlooking the laundry, which was noisy at 5.30 in the morning. However after speaking with reception they changed our room to another one which was much better. The rooms are a little outdated but very clean. We had water problems with the hot water. All of the staff were lovely and work so hard with a big smile on their faces. We had B and B, food was good and plentiful, we ate out in the evenings. Snack bar was good with plenty of choice. The bar area is nice and plenty of choice of drinks. Pool was good and enjoyed the fact there wasn’t a scramble for sun beds, only a very few people saved their beds first thing. But even coming in the afternoon there were plenty. The beach which is pebbles was just across the road, take beach shoes for the sea, it would help getting in and out Thank you to all of the staff for their hard work. We had a great stay and location near Kos town was so very good and a short bus ride if you didn’t want to walk. Taxi from Kos town back to hotel approx €7

I couldn’t fault this hotel. The rooms spacious, comfortable, cleaned daily with fresh towels. We had a lovely view over farmland and looking out to sea. The food was delicious, a buffet every evening with a huge selection. There was everything you could want for breakfast. The snack bar by the pool have amazing gyros, and so reasonably priced. The location is great, a 15 minute walk into Kos town if you could hop on an electric scooter, you have to download an app to use these. The small beach is on the hotels doorstep with plenty of sunbeds. There is a gorgeous restaurant and bar right on the beach front called Mood & Food, we went there several times as it feels so boujee overlooking the sea. Special shout out to Yannis the hotel manager who made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had. All the staff were nice and friendly.

Just returned last night from a wonderful weeks stay at this lovely spotless hotel.Do not take any notice of bad reviews, they are not justified. Fantastic location,lovely staff and beautiful gardens.All on all a relaxing break with stunning weather,did not see one cloud sall week.The food from the snack bar by the pool is very good and reasonably priced.would definitely return.

A late review as we stayed in September 24. Reasonably good value for the price paid (via TUI). Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room with a fridge; quiet, efficient aircon unit was included in price (and essential with early September daytime temperatures 30s and evening 20s C); reasonable side sea view; beds very firm. Food generally good with reasonable choice; plenty of sunbeds by the pool and on lawns. Relaxed, quiet pool area; reasonable size pool with lifeguard. This hotel is more suitable for older couples than families with children (as meagre playground, no apparent children’s entertainment or daytime activities in September; charges for use of table tennis and pool table; no shallow end in the pool for small children although separate paddling pool). Beach close to the hotel is a small stretch of sand with pebbles at water edge; sheltered and fine for swimming but no beach sunbeds (nearby bar/restaurant overlooking the sea offers sunbeds for their patrons).10 minute stroll on the level into charming Kos Town with its boat trips and day trip by ferry (30 mins) to Bodrum, Turkey (remember your passport!) with its Tuesday clothing market (if you’re interested, always ask Euro price first, then offer very low, haggle hard and be ready to walk away! No problem paying with UK Pounds or Euros if spending cash there). Bodrum Castle is adjacent to the ferry terminal and the market a 10 mins walk away. A few hotel downsides. No hot water for half of the hotel including our room for 2 days awaiting system repair. One of the restaurant staff was curt (the others were always very friendly and helpful); gluten free meal options were very limited and accurate gluten free labelling would be advisable; inadequate aircon in the dining room - would be better if breakfast and dinner had the option of tables outside. The evening ‘meal’ for late flight arrivals was an abysmal snack. Evening entertainment was only 4 nights each week, (one was Karaoke, one a Greek music/dancing night, but two nights featured good singers including an exceptional guitarist). Furnishings in Bar lounge are tired/dated. Overall an enjoyable hotel. Thank you Irene on Reception desk for all your assistance.
