Ecotao Lodge

We stayed for four nights in November. First things first the staff were faultless, everyone including the owners were lovely and actually made our stay. The views were also to die for. The food and drink were also great. The hotel itself is quite remote, we didn’t have a bike so relied upon a friendly local taxi driver to get us round. The rooms were clean and nice, they were very basic. The mosquitos were pretty relentless and made it hard to sit out by the pool as we were just eaten alive. Overal I find it hard to fault anything in particular because the hotel is great, however if you are looking for luxury this doesn’t quite hit the mark

A different experience from your conventional hotel, but amazing. Nice staff, nice food in the restaurant, nice pool. Great, private taxi service to the town/beaches. We felt like we were in the tree tops in the bamboo structure rooms. Don't forget your mosquito spray, and cover up in the evening.

A magnificent lodge in a great location, with an incredible view of the bay. very clean and dedicated staff Yves is an extremely nice person and always ready to help you. I highly recommend and will be back We had an amazing week Olivier

This hotel has stunning views and a FANTASTIC swimming pool. The staff is very friendly and speaks perfect English, which is very much appreciated. The breakfast buffet we had included was delicious, and we also had lunch and dinner there since the food is very fresh and tasty. Our cottage was AMAZING, fully equipped, and with spectacular views from our terrace. The cottages provide a lot of privacy, even on the terrace. Totally recommended!!! P.S. When we arrived, the staff recommended us some trips; we chose the snorkel trip and it was the best snorkel ever!!! ……………………………….. Este hotel tiene unas vistas increíbles sobre el mar desde la piscina. El personal es muy amable y habla inglés perfectamente. El desayuno buffet que teníamos incluido estaba delicioso, pero también comimos y cenamos en el hotel ya que la comida era espectacular. Nuestra cabaña no podía ser más bonita, totalmente equipada y con vistas espectaculares desde nuestra terraza. Mucha privacidad, incluso en la terraza. Totalmente recomendable!! P.D.: al hacer el check-in el personal nos recomendó varias excursiones, lo cual agradecimos mucho ya que no teníamos ningún plan; elegimos la excursión de snorkel y fue todo un acierto!!!!

What a fantastic stay we had at Ecotao! Run by such warm, accomodating and friendly people. The rooms are lovely with great showers and ac. The view from the shower was overlooking the jungle with the sea behind, it amazed us every morning. Also the view at breakfast was excellent, as was the breakfast itself. We had a slight accident with our rented scooter and Khaw and Yves made sure we were as comfortable as possible, taking great care of us. A huge thankyou to the whole team, we hope to be back!

Highly recommend this beautiful, fantastic place. The lodges itself are well-build, solid places, with a great shower and great views. The bed is very good, and fresh water and coffee is refreshed on daily basis. So 5/5 for the bungalows and corresponding service. The location of the lodges is on the center of the island, a little higher up in the mountains. To be flexible, would definately advise to get a scooter. Roads are good and safe, can be a bit steep. But no real challenges whatsoever. We absolutely loved the (sea) views, and as Koh Tao is a small Island, everything is within a very short scooter drive. The staff was so nice! Great people, speak english, and are always available for questions and recommandations. They arranged a private snorkeling tour, which was great. And recommended the Garden restaurant, in which we had an amazing last evening on the island. Further, they have a nice pool, unlimited, tasty breakfast included and good room service. Summarized, we had an amazing stay at this place. Highly recommend. The one ‘con’ was that the restaurant service was not available after breakfast; however i think this was covid related. We were not really bothered. Enough good places nearby! Thanks very much Ecotao!
