We were greeted with a sleepy front desk reception at 8pm, the car guard and bag attendants were quick and efficient. Had to change rooms for one of our guests due to a non working tv, only for the same guest to have a terrible night due to a non working air conditioner in extreme humidity for an 80 year old. We were warned about this hotel but I had read that there was a recent renovation to I expected changes. Sadly this was not the situation. The porters were helpful and requests were attended to timeously during the day but the night staff was difficult to get a hold off. We did but get assistance with check out baggage and the card systems were not working for closing our bill. We had to use our cash which was not the preference. The breakfast included was nothing to write home about. Minimal and basic with 2 fruit options, cereal, toast and a few hot options. Sad given the pricing. Overall, the accommodation retains its rating for the location close to all the colonial historical sites and ferry to vypin. I suppose the staff try their best but need the owners to step up and make some much needed changes and updates. Overall, we salvaged the stay despite the disappointment.
