The Silk Rooms, at the Freemasons Inn

We enjoyed our one night stay at The Silk Rooms whilst visiting family. The rooms are well placed in the centre of Knutsford with lots of eateries nearby. The automated check in worked well and we were impressed with the size of our bedroom, small hallway and bathroom. The rooms are painted in very dark colours which was fine during the day when the sun was shining but would be a bit gloomy on a dull day. The large bed was very comfortable and, once the planes landing at Manchester airport had stopped flying overhead at midnight, we slept well (It would help if the windows were double glazed). There was a coffee maker in the room and a kettle, plenty of tea and coffee but not enough milk (you really needed two sachets of milk in the coffee and we only had five so were only able to make one drink). There was also only one packet of two biscuits which seemed a bit mean when the room had been booked for two people. The bathroom was wet room style and was large with an excellent shower. The sink, however, was ridiculously tiny - not big enough to wash your face without water going everywhere and no space under the tap to fill the kettle - there was plenty of room for a decent sized sink so this seemed a strange decision. On the whole, a reasonable place to stay but with a few less than perfect aspects.

This is the second time we have stayed here, we had different rooms and both had extremely comfortable large beds. This time we had a fantastic bath as well as the great shower. The rooms have fabulous decor and everything is thought of. We also love the location, not far from the M6 but also a beautiful town to mooch around with lovely places to eat. Tatton park is also within walking distance which worth a visit.

Silk Mill - what a beautiful boutique property! The decor and furnishings are exquisite. We loved the contactless and keyless aspect of our check-in - there was no waiting around and instructions to check in was very straight forward. Our room was lovely and cosy with a very comfortable king size bed. The location and parking facilities were perfect. Thank You

Mixed review bed was comfortable, photos make room look a lot bigger than it is was in room 1 and we had the room above us banging till past midnight, then to top it of the managed to set the fire alarms of just after 7 the next morning, then when we got back in are room they were singing with there door open had to turn the tell up to block it out. The place could really do with some kind of sound proofing. I know that’s not the fault of silk rooms Not a lot of tea,coffee and milk in the room. Location is good feel it’s a bit overpriced

Such a beautifully furnished place and very central to Knutsford. A really lovely stay and perfect shower with the comfiest bed. Lovely design and bed linen. Lots of lovely places to eat nearby. Check in perfect. Highly recommend this gem.

Stayed for one night mid week. All info leading up was on time, however the links to check in were broken. Key code by text/email worked and access was straight forward. Lots of tiny stairwells- I dont advise a large suitcase. Room was as the photos, boutique and very dark. Bed very comfortable. Warm room temp and we couldn't figure the air con so had a muggy night. Major down side was the refreshments. No pods for the coffee machine, very sparse milks, sugar and instant coffee provided. Not a teaspoon to be found in the room. Sounds like a small thing but thats what gets the return custom/recommendation. Room to improve on customer experience.
