Few days ago, I came back from this beautiful place, and I would like to share my thoughts. First of all, I have read a lot of reviews before choosing it, and some of them were quite negative and I can’t agree with them. So, I will try to give my view of some concerns. ROOMS: I’ve received a room on the 2nd floor with an Ocean view. Rooms are cozy with comfortable beds and a quite big bathroom. They are cleaned every day by the kind staff. Air conditioning works well, which is important as there is pretty hot. FOOD: This is the thing I was worried about the most. But it turned out that it was not necessary. This hotel offers delicious food. For a breakfast there are sweet rolls, pancakes, French toasts, eggs in any form, cereals, yoghurt, ham, cheese, and a lot of fruits. One thing which is missing is a bigger variety of bread as there are only toasts. The bigger variety of food was during lunch and supper. This hotel offers delicious pasta, pizza, sushi, a lot of different fishes, meat, and burgers, there are also local meals and veggies. I also recommend trying their desserts and fruits (especially pineapple!). Restaurant is served by kind, friendly and helpful staff. I always had a table booked by one of the waiters. So, to sum up, food is really tasty here. BEACH: Beautiful wide beach with fine sand. For me it was the best beach comparing to other hotels nearby. Ocean is really warm – water was like 30 degrees. Sunbeds are under palm trees which gives the great vibe. During relax you can listen to the music thanks to the Bravo animators. From this point I would like to say thank you to Ali – the best worker. He always cares about guests, bring them mattresses, makes sure if everything is okay. He is really kind and always smiling man. He also brings and prepares coconuts! Ali – Asante! Really good job. POOL: The pool is quite small, but it’s good to cool of when the Ocean is too warm. I’ve read that the water is salty, but I don’t think so. The water in the pool is sweet. The pool is 130 cm at its deepest point. GARDENS: Spectacular view in every part of the hotel. Beautiful palm trees, banana trees and other plants making this place magical. There are also a lot of different species of animals – colorful birds, lizards, monkeys. I feel relaxed during the walk. Magical place. LOBBY & BEACH BARS: As well in lobby as well at the beach, drinks are served in paper cups. It didn’t bother me as I have been in a lot of different places when such situations happened, and what is more at the Lobby bar you can ask to get drink in glass, so there is no problem. All drinks are tasty. They are served by the best staff! Especially by Mariam and Martha. These two were so kind to everyone, always smiling and entering into small talks. When I came at the bar, I’ve always had my drinks already prepared. Mariam, Martha – Asante! You’re the best! ENTERTAINMENT: The entertainment is provided by the animators from Bravo. Sultan Sands in Zanzibar is a fantastic hotel to unwind after a few days on safari. The rooms are excellent (spacious, quiet, and comfortable). The social areas are also well above average, with four pools (including a quieter one for those looking to truly relax), several restaurants, bars, and various game areas like snooker and ping pong. There’s even a spot for beach soccer and volleyball. The staff is attentive and professional, from the gardeners to the receptionists, restaurant staff, and entertainers. Everyone we encountered was friendly and eager to ensure we had a great stay. Two standout aspects of Sultan Sands, in my opinion, are the quality of the food and the beach. - The food is local, spicy, and of excellent quality with a great variety to choose from. - The beach right in front of the hotel is stunning, with soft sand, crystal-clear water, and a perfect temperature. Surrounding the hotel, the beach area has several shops selling local crafts, and there are also numerous vendors who enjoy chatting with tourists. While they are keen to sell their products, they are polite and not overly pushy if you’re not interested, which adds a charming and authentic local flavor to the area. There are a couple of areas where the hotel could improve: 1) The hotel should invest in maintaining the cleanliness of the beach in front of and around the property. The beach and ocean are beautiful, but there is quite a bit of plastic and some litter that should be collected. While I understand that the beach isn't the hotel's direct responsibility, they have enough staff to handle this additional task and greatly enhance the cleanliness of the environment. I strongly believe the hotel should work to ensure the beach is consistently clean and should encourage their staff and local vendors to participate in regular cleanups. 2) All goods at the hotel (food, drinks) are priced in the local currency. However, when it comes time to settle the bill via credit card at the end of the stay, the hotel only accepts payment in USD, with an exorbitant exchange rate—nearly 15% higher than the actual rate. If prices are displayed in the local currency, it doesn’t seem fair to force guests to pay in USD, especially with such a significant markup. My final payment ended up being considerably higher than the advertised cost for additional products and services.

We stayed at the resort during Christmas and NYE and can only recommend. We got a very nice room with sea view and spend two weeks at the resort. Staff is very very friendly, always smiling and very attentive. Special thank you to Joyce, Jonathan, Jona and Juma and many more. Also the food is good, various themes every night and you can also choose from three additional restaurants on a la carte dining which is included. The highlight is definitely the beautiful beach, the amazing garden and the extraordinary service level. And the best massage on Zanzibar with Dhani from Bali, amazing to relax. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to see the renovated rooms.

Hemos sido un grupo de 8 personas y nos hemos sentido fenomenal. La comida, el trato del personal, las habitaciones super limpias com aire acondicionado todo nos ha encantado. La luz en zanzibar se va a menudo, pero el hotel tiene generador y esto se soluciona super rapido.Si estas por Zanzibar y quieres relajarte en un medio privado este hotel es para ti. La playa de Kiwengua es muy tranquila y nada masificada. Puedes disfrutar de tu trocito de playa privada ( delante del hotel) con tumbonas y toallas. Tambien hay servicio de bebidas delante del mar. El restaurante del hotel esta a otra altura en comparacion con otros restaurantes cerca. Tienen mucha variedad de comida y productos frescos. Recomiendo el lobster al horno, la mariscada de pescado y marisco y chapati de pollo. Yo y nuestra familia hemos quedado encantados, un trocito de nosotros se ha quedado en este hotel. Nos hemos sentido como en casa. Los chicos son jovenes con mucho entusiasmo y amor por hacer las cosas bien y esto se nota. Recomendamos este restaurante 100% GRACIAS FAMILIA ❤️ See you soon🎁
