Stayed at the Blue Haven as an impromptu overnight stay on our way home from Cork to Kells. The room price was very reasonable, the rooms were clean and I had the best sleep in a hotel I've ever had. The pillows were amazing. The Beatles Festival was on this weekend and we loved seeing Beatles paintings up in the hotel. The restaurant was amazing and service was great. But was lovely to find delicious gluten free meals as starters, main course and desert and everything on offer was well prepared and delicious. We had an amazing overnight stay and will definitely be back. Kinsale is absolutely beautiful and my favourite place, and this hotel really is an incredible find.

We visited Kinsale in January, so did NOT make advance reservation. The Blue Haven had available rooms, and put us in a room of one of 2 buildings, located in the center of town on Pearse Street. We had breakfast the following morning at the Blue Haven restaurant. Nice quaint hotel room and nice location in town. Of special note is that we received a personized card from the Manager minutes after entering our room. Our room was on second floor which had an overlooking view of Pearse Street.

The Blue Haven Hotel is perfectly situated near the harbor of Kinsale. Easy walking distance to most of the key sites of Kinsale, and to all the best pubs. The modern bathrooms with a heated towel rack were an unexpected pleasure. Breakfast breads in Ireland are delicious, but especially the French Toast at the Blue Haven. Staff was universally friendly and helpful. The restaurant on site has live music every night. We listened two nights in a row, both times the musicians were great.

The photos on their website and the descriptions of their rooms reach the level of fraudulent. For example, here is their description of their Superior King: "Our Superior King room at the Blue Haven is just that – superior in every way. The elegance, simplicity, and style of the décor continue throughout and that feeling of luxury is achieved by the extra space and comforts of this delightful room". I booked and paid for a Superior King and it was so small there was no space to open the suitcases. The furniture was terrible, there were holes in the ceiling where they had moved a fixture years ago and never repaired.The room was small and shabby in every aspect. When I spoke to the manager his response was that they were full so he couldn't give me another room and he did not have the authority to adjust the price. Buyer beware!

We stayed here over the weekend for a family event, a birthday which we celebrated within the hotel on one of days, and everyone enjoyed themselves massively. We stayed for three nights with family and friends, with everyone enjoying their stay, for level of service, food, atmosphere, welcoming environment and just a great place to be located when exploring Kinsale. Breakfast was good, fresh hot food delivered. We did eat one evening within the hotel and all agreed the food was very good. The staff were excellent, friendly and so helpful. Our room had a relaxing feel to it, larger than most and the one on the web site, so plenty of room, so great place to chill and unwind. When we come back, we will have no hesitation in staying again. Many thanks to all, from the moment we arrived to time we had to say goodbye.

The Blue Have is a cozy hotel with friendly staff and excellent food. It is located in the center of Kinsale and the music in the evening was very enjoyable. Ideal for couples looking for a relaxing or romantic getaway. Plenty of places to visit in the area such as the Old Head of Kinsale and Timoleague.

Fantastic welcome, service and hospitality over our weekend stay 14-17 February for my birthday celebrations at the Blue Haven. We had a mixed group of guests as part of the booking including some local to Cork, from other parts of Ireland and a lot of people from the UK - 3 of whom were experiencing their first visit to Ireland, all really enjoyed it. Special mention to Marita Kelleher who was my co-ordinator plus all the housekeeping, reception, bar and restaurant staff teams who all who went out of their way to make our stay such an enjoyable experience. Relaxing in the lounges was a pleasure and the bar service, live music and restaurant meals were exceptional. We will be back ......
