Pinewood Beach Resort & Spa

We spent 2 days here ɓefore safari and then 5 days after. It was like coming home as everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing, plenty of vegetarian options and each night is in a different location around the hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy and we had monkeys visiting on the balcony. The beach is lovely, there were plenty of sunbeds available on the beach and by the pool. You could easily get one in the afternoon. Special thanks to Anthony at the pool bar and Kalib and Paul at the beach bar for making us feel so welcome every day. We hope to return as it was one of the most relaxing hotels we have stayed in!

I love the feel and atmosphere of this place. Personal touches are everywhere as soon as you enter! A gorgeous oasis, and beach - everything we needed and more... large, clean, comfortable rooms and beds, air-conditioning, great Wi-Fi connectivity...plus a delicious and huge choice of food to suit my dietary requirements. We didn't need to leave, enjoying a variety of dining-in options and locations on site. Well trained, helpful staff work as a team and made me feel welcome and attended to. Peaceful and quiet, it was a great getaway for adults like my sister and I, who stayed for several days. Bespoke built, and lived in by the owners, this personally curated resort is founded on sustainable principles before it was even a thing! I met the owners and manager who care for the place like it's their home and who satisfied my curious mind. I would definitely come back here.

What an amazing place - we thought we had arrived in paradise! The hotel is luxurious set in beautiful grounds next to a stunning beach. The food is fantastic and had a different theme or location every evening. Incredibly comfortable rooms (we had a garden suite - wonderful to have the extra space and outside veranda). All the staff were very friendly; we were really well looked after. We were celebrating my husband's 60th - he had a cake delivered with much wonderful singing and our bed was covered with flowers and a birthday message on the day.

We arrived at Pinewood after a 6 day safari through the Rift Valley looking forward to a week of peace & quiet before our flights back to the Uk. And that is exactly what Pinewood offers. Reached via an unmade road a km along the Diani Beach it is a remote family built & owned hotel village. Right from our arrival we felt like we had been transported to an oasis of calm with all your needs catered for. The accommodation is set in a mature garden & arranged in groups of three to a ‘house’. Ours was a standard & was equipped with the usual fridge, tea/coffee, safe, nets, huge bed, spacious first floor room & a lovely balcony with lounge chairs & a day bed. The hotel felt quiet though was probably quiet full with, I guess, 25 to 30 couples but we had the feeling of having the place to ourselves. Beautifully landscaped with the main restaurant & lounge but also offering a swimup pool bar & snack area & then a further covered occasional restaurant & a further day time beach bar & restaurant equipt with a wood fired pizza oven. We were All Inclusive & the food was wonderful. International & Kenyan dishes with a rotation of themes & restaurants with a dozen chefs ready to serve & advise you. A private beach area under thatched sun shades & coconut palms which was never more than half full & a white sandy beach that rivals any in the Maldives. But what made Pinewood so special was the extensive staff who were always ready to provide a first class service & prided themselves on remembering our names & room number. Patrick the gardener, keen to point out the plants, flowers & wildlife. Freddie on beach towels, so lovely & helpful. John our waiter, always attentive . And Evan’s the housekeeping manager (also an Arsenal supporter) for arranging our extended stay. Thankyou to you all. It was also reassuring to see the Pinewood owner & architect in attendance every day. So If you want peaceful luxury with super attentive staff then you will love Pinewood.

What an amazing place for relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay a lot. The rooms are big, may be not fancy modern, but clean and in good condition. The garden all around the resort is amazing and a lot of people taking care for it. A nice paradise. We tried a lot of different food in the restaurants and everything was fresh, tasty and delicious. Doesn’t matter if it was the main, the pool or the beach restaurant. Finally the staff is amazing! Perfectly organised, perfectly trained, super friendly and helpful. Only thing you need to know, it’s far away from the city center and a bad street to drive and there is seaweed in the ocean but the beach is cleaned every morning. Thank you so much! We loved it.

Excellent beach resort on the southern end of Diani/Galu beach. Rooms - very traditional and roomy, clean with a good balcony. Good sized bathroom and shower. Food - excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We especially loved the beach bbq nights and the Mongolian bbq, really good. There are some drinks and food that are not on the all inclusive, but you can choose to pay a supplement if you wish, for the food anyway. But there is plenty of food and drink choice on the all inclusive. The pool is fabulous, with a great swim up bar and good staff. In fact all the staff are very friendly and super nice. The beach is lovely, and the sea like a bath. No real bother from the beach boys, they were all fine. We had 5 nights after a trek and safari, that was perfect, much longer and I would have been looking round for other stuff to do, not being the best at sitting still for too long!! Our only moan was with the really poor house/all inclusive white wine. It was just about drinkable, with added ice, but is frankly not up to standard and the hotel need to find something better!! The red is fine. Other wines (as with all of Kenya) are similar prices to the UK, mush more expensive than in South Africa. But overall a great 5 night stay, thanks to all!!
