Captain's

This is a very nice hotel with some fabulous views over Kini bay. Our room was large with a small kitchen ( very importantly with a fridge) double balcony and nice views. To describe this as a ‘boutique hotel’ is stretching things a bit but it does have a lovely ‘home made’ charm. Staff are very helpful and will arrange taxi’s etc. and also do evening meals on request. The views from the breakfast area and pool are superb. The bus to Kini and Ermopoulous stops outside which is really useful as the walk back from Kini is long and steep! Not for the infirm. Babis does a great breakfast but a little more variety would be good.

This hotel was a great find. It’s in a quiet location with amazing views. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. We had a good sized balcony where we could sit and watch the sunset. The pool area is very nice and quiet. Chrisa is lovely and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast is lovely and there’s plenty of it. It’s not far to the beach and restaurants but be aware that the beautiful views mean it’s a steep walk. Kini has a lovely relaxed feel. We really enjoyed our stay at Captain’s and just wished it had been longer.

I booked two rooms at Captain's in early April, and paid the 30% deposit for the reservations, which were fully refundable up to May 26. After our plans changed, I cancelled the reservations on May 15. I received email confirmation of the cancellations. I assumed the deposits would be refunded to my card but neglected to confirm that the refunds had in fact been received. On August 8 (almost 3 months later), I received an email stating Captain's would need my bank information in order to issue a refund. I replied that I was unwilling to send my bank details by email for security reasons. I was told Captain's would be unable to refund the deposit to my credit card. I have exchanged several emails with Captain's since then, without results. I will need to go ahead and dispute these charges from April with my credit card company; the whole process has taken up a great deal of my time. I'm concerned that this establishment, which otherwise looks lovely, might actually make a regular practice of retaining these deposit fees!
