At 2 and then again at 2:30 in the morning, we were woken up by people attempting to get into our room. They had a key and if it wasn't for our safety latch, they would have entered. Needless to say, we were woken up and terrified.... twice! We called the front desk but there wasn't any one there. Still very unsettled, my husband propped a chair in front of the door and tried to sleep which was challenging at best. The next morning, when we relayed the details to the manager, she apologized explaining that this rarely happens.... though she mentioned that it actually did happen a few times before... where they experienced computer failure incorrectly showing occupied rooms as currently vacant. She graciously refunded our room cost but the motel's responsibility for correcting this issue after it occured the first time is inexcusable!
