We visited last Saturday with very high expectations as we have previously dined in the hotel whilst with the previous owners. I don’t know what to say except that everything remained the same ie, the scenery and the beauty of the hotel however the quality of the lunch we received and the manner in which our constructive criticism was handled would lead me to think that this hotel is not as it was.. We were only having lunch but were about to book a few days in the hotel as were staying nearby and when we received our food it was only barely warm but our chips were stone cold. By the time we could catch a member of staff to advise of our issue it was too late. We had eaten what we could but no point in giving fresh chips when it was too late. The member of staff that we raised the issue with apologised and said “they would note our issues” and decided not to charge us for one drink??????? Not satisfied with this attitude my husband spoke to a manager who advised he was a brother of the person who owned the hotel, he asked my husband where we were from and was told “Carlow” and said the next time you are “passing by” contact me ( he gave his telephone number). Honestly when do you, if you live in Carlow pass by Kenmare?. For a 5 star hotel with 5 star prices this was not the attitude that we expected. Truly not good enough for a hotel with the esteem of the “Park Hotel Kenmare”. Poor food, dreadful attitude and ridiculous reaction from management. So let down.
