Appleby 24 is a stunning Victorian stone-built cottage that exudes charm and comfort, with a real log burner for warmth. In a prime location, just a short walk from Kendal. This property is perfect for a romantic getaway, a fun-filled retreat with friends, or a family adventure, ideally placed to explore Kendal, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Our home has a private parking space and minutes away from Kendal train station and bus station, which has links to the 555 route.
The space
Built in the 1880's and furnished to a high standard with traditional features, Appleby 24 boasts three superb bedrooms- a master double bedroom, twin room on the first floor and a double bedroom on the ground floor which has been extended to the rear, overlooking the sunny patio garden.
The master bedroom on the first floor has a special custom-made raised bed, offering a unique sleeping experience. Don't worry we provide a step to help you get in and out of bed with ease! You can also enjoy some downtime with the TV provided in the room. There is plenty of space to hang your smart jackets and posh frocks in the wardrobe, or in the room, off the master bedroom where cases can also be stored. Next door, the twin room is equally comfortable with cosy beds, as well as a chest of drawers and some hanging space. It has views of Benson Knott in the distance!
The luxurious family bathroom boasts stunning Italian green glass mosaic tiles, complemented by a spacious bathtub, ideal for a relaxing soak after a day of hiking in the hiils. There is even room to balance a gin and tonic or cup of tea around the edge of the bath! Additionally, a separate shower is also available.
The newly decorated, fresh, ground floor garden bedroom is ideal for extra privacy and convenience. It has a Get Laid handcrafted double bed with a comfortable mattress, a chest of drawers, and some hanging space. The wet room en-suite has a shower, sink, and WC, complete with heated towel rail for your comfort.
The front door leads you to a light and cheerful lounge with seating for six featuring two comfortable 2-seater couches, a cosy chair and complete with an Esse log burner to keep you snug and warm on those cold nights- complimentary logs and coal provided. The 43-inch, 4k Smart TV is perfect for watching your favourite movies on Disney+ or catching up with the latest box sets on Netflix . There are plenty of books to choose from, and with fast WiFi available throughout the property, you can stay connected and share your adventures with friends and family.
All the essentials you need for a comfortable stay can be found in the well equipped kitchen and dining room, with shaker style cabinets, range cooker, Nespresso machine and stone flag floor. A brand new dishwasher has just been installed for extra luxury. You are on holiday after all!
You can even store your shoes and coats for mountain hikes. There is plenty of space for a bike or two, which can be safely stored for your peace of mind in the back porch. We have also provided a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility area to ensure you have everything you need.
As you step outside, you'll be welcomed by a private sunny patio, with table and chairs, perfect for relaxing with an al fresco drink and planning your next adventure. The off-road parking space is just behind the garden, with a log store and coal bunker.

Kendal visit
Everything was perfect. Host extremely thoughtful. House was immaculate and in wonderful condition. Location is terrific for getting around Kendal and Cumbria. Wonderful pub, The Duke of Cumberland, nearby with exceptional food and service.
