Moksha at Kitulgala - Rainforest Boutique Hotel

Such a beautiful place to stay! This was the first place we stayed in Sri Lanka and the bar has been set high! Room was delightful. Clean, comfortable and cool. Facilities were perfect for a relaxing stay. Pool and natural pool were great. Food was delicious. A special mention needs to go to the staff. Incredibly attentive and friendly. The true definition of customer service. Thank you!!

We were a family group of 11 people staying at Moksha@Kitulgala for two nights over New Years Eve. The group ranged from 15 to 80 y/o and all really enjoyed our stay and the entertainments and activities laid on. The communication in advance of our stay was exemplary, including arranging a small coach to collect us from Hatton railway station, planning a great itinerary for NYE and arranging rafting and canyoning for New Years Day. The food was generally excellent, with the New Years Eve meal particularly good. Live music was laid on which was also very good, with fireworks and a campfire adding sparkle. Lots of fun on the karaoke with the party ending in the small hours with the other hotel guests. The rafting and canyoning was also excellent. We were slightly worried as other groups seemed to be more professional (new boats, new helmets etc), however our two guides were excellent and made sure everyone had fun and were safe. This activity really exceeded my expectations The hotel itself was very good, comfortable beds, really nice pool and badminton/volleyball court. Nice surrounding gardens and access to a natural pool in the rainforest for a refreshing dip. The staff were extremely attentive (only criticism being that this could sometimes feel a little overwhelming) and very helpful whenever you wanted/needed anything. I would definitely recommend Moksha@Kitulgala to other travellers

Very friendly staff and good food. The Christmas dinner outside was excellent. A seven course menu, live music and candle lights. We also got a Christmas gift. We have done a rain forest hiking tour early in the morning. Just be careful about leeches. We got proper gear from the hotel. The pool at the river just next to the hotel is special, refreshing, and you feel in the middle of nature. The pool at the hotel is nice too.

Umasha helped me book the hotel and the family linked room was a great option as recommended by her Beautiful peaceful and calm boutique hotel Food by Manula was amazing especially the chocolate delight Hotel has it’s own natural pond, swimming pool and a Badminton court Both kids and adults had lots of fun The dinner out in the open with the fire pits was amazing Awesome hotel suitable for family and friends seeking a quiet and calm experience

We decided to stay here for a week to celebrate my husbands retirement. Let me say it was the best week of the year! The hotel is small, only 8 rooms so it really feels secluded and quiet, mostly only hearing the sounds of nature. We felt as if we were in the middle of the rainforest and enjoyed walking around, taking dips in both the pool and natural pool. Enough cannot be said about the food. It was amazing! We had the Sri Lankan option for absolutely every meal and there wasn’t anything we didn’t like! The team at moksha were so kind and accommodating, it really felt so comfortable to just stay on the premises and not leave…if you’re looking for a place to rest and recharge, Moksha is the place! Thank you team Moksha for giving us a nice and beautiful memory of Sri Lanka 🙏🏼
