White Rocks Hotel Kefalonia

We currently staying at the white rocks hotel in Kefalonia and we are having a wonderful time. The hotel is fantastic and the staff are excellent. Very helpful and friendly. The grounds are immaculate and as is the hotel itself. The private beach is the highlight for us and being able to purchase food and drinks from the nearby bar is a bonus. We’re already looking to book in again for next year.

This is our first time staying here and we absolutely love it. We're in room 119 have a fantastic sea view with balcony over looking the fabulous coastline and beach. We went to the al carte restaurant last night and the food was first class with excellent friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Weve been to Kefolonia several times before and this hotel exceeds expectations in all areas. We're half board but use our allowance for lunch and explore local restaurants for dinner. The beach bar does great food, great super friendly staff with exceptional views. Most of the guests we've spoken to have returned many times. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Do not go to this hotel if you want a peaceful & relaxing holiday. Worst holiday in 50 years of travelling. The hotel caters for wedding parties with the weddings being on a Friday.. We went on a Sunday & everthing was fine until Tuesday when all the wedding guests started arriving. They immeadiatly took over the lounge terrace bar taking most of the chairs outside & noise quickly accelerated. Next morning went to the pool area ( which is to small for the amount of guests) & got two sunbeds. 4 wedding guests soon arrived & took 4 sunbeds. 6 more then arrived & sat with the other 4 sharing their beds. The decibel levels started to rise. Soon about 15 more arrived & it got worse. My wife & I relocated to the hotels beach area which is also to small for amount of guests. We decided to go for lunch at the beach bar which is halfway between the pool & beach, when we got their it was taken over by the wedding guests. (Which is also to small for the amount of guests). We thought we would try lunch in the a la carte restaurant instead but that does not open until 14.00pm so we left the hotel & went to a taverna. At the the evening meal in the evening,,,, best described as a canteen not a restaurant, it was mayhem, could not hear yourself think let alone talk. Tried to get a drink in the evening in the lounge terrace bar but guess what, it was taken over by the wedding guests. The weddings take place on Fridays with boom boom shake the room music blarring out. This hotel descibes itself as being tranquill & peaceful but is anything but. When put our concerns to the hotel front of desk staff, we were told that wedding guests pay the same as us & can use the same facilities as normal guests which I agree with but I feel the hotel must decide whether it wants to cater for weddings or normal holiday makers & also tour operators should warn people in their online sites that the hotel caters for weddings with 25-30 staying. I feel if the hotel wants to try & provide for both clientel it should provide seperate pool, lunch bar & evening bar for wedding guests as the 2 do not mix.
