We had pleasure of staying at this charming boutique hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The standout feature of the hotel is undoubtedly its fantastic restaurant. The menu offers beauriful dishes, prepared with the freshest ingredients, and each course was fantastic. The cheese cart was especially wonderful. The ambience in the dining area was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. There were some mistake with our order and bill but these were quickly rectified. The bar with its wood burning fire, is a cozy retreat, perfect for unwinding after a day of relaxation. We especially enjoyed the spa, the treatments are luxurious, and I highly recommend indulging in one of their signature therapies for a complete rejuvenation. One of the most unique aspects of the spa is the copper bath experience. It's a truly indulgent and memorable activity that adds a touch of opulence to your stay. The copper tubs are not only aesthetically stunning but provide an incredibly soothing experience, allowing you to completely unwind and relax. After the baths we enjoyed sorbet and herbal tea by the fire in the relaxation room. Overall, this boutique hotel excels in every area, offering a perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and exceptional service. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat, a culinary experience, or a day of pampering, this hotel has it all. Highly recommended!

Wonderful environment. We love the peace and spaciousness of the estate. It has a wonderful feel. Lovely bathroom and the mill restaurant does a great evening meal and Sunday lunch. Breakfast is extremely high quality, substantial and given with great service. Excellent spa experience.

Beautiful hotel just a short drive from Dublin. Grounds are fabulous. Lily Pond rooms have lovely views. Our room was OK, not quite the luxury we expected. Bathroom was stunning with a free standing bath. Village Thermal is lovely for relaxation although there is no lighting which meant by 5:30pm we couldn't see anything. This seems dangerous. The Mill is lovely for dinner - beef was very tender. Service excellent. Beautiful breakfast the next morning. Overall, it's a lovely spot for a weekend break.

Overall the CLIFF was a fabulous experience. Beautiful rooms, beautiful food and very kind staff. We also received a spa treatment which was lovely. Overall I would recommend but it was pricey for the level of service received. We felt as though we were forgotten about all weekend. On the first night after dinner we were sitting in the lounge upstairs and I asked the barman twice for a glass of water. He could’ve just poured it then and there within 1 minute and he said both times he would drop it down but he didn’t, even after I went up the second time. I had emailed a week in advance to request a dessert plate for my aunts birthday. This was forgotten about at the dinner we had both nights and never arrived. I didn’t complain on front of my aunt and I do note that a bottle of Prosecco was in the room on arrival which was a nice touch but my aunt does not drink hence why I asked for the dessert plate. When we came down from our spa treatment, we were again totally forgotten about, weren’t offered sorbet or tea etc whilst people who came down after us were. I ended up 15 minutes after repeatedly trying to make eye contact with someone grabbing their attention and asking for sorbet. The lady did say they were very busy etc and apologised and was very kind however it was the general theme of the weekend. We weren’t given a turn down service on the Friday but were offered it on Saturday in the middle of getting ready to go for dinner which was a strange time. Finally the shampoo and conditioner in the room stuck my hair together and made my aunts very greasy and we could not wash it out. I appreciate it’s a “natural product” but products like that are going to damage a guests hair. I had to go to Superdrug and purchase a clarifying shampoo on my way home to wash the Cliff shampoo out of my hair. Whilst we had a lovely weekend, for the price of €1,100 plus another €160 for dinner on the first night, I would expect better service and not to be forgotten about all weekend and for good quality bathroom products.

Stayed for 1 night bed and breakfast overlooking Lilly Pond. The grounds were very nice. Bedrooms were dreary, chairs torn, furniture badly marked and cables hanging down from TV which had only 2 stations. Bathroom was very big and seemed recently refurbished with nice rainfall shower and 2 sinks. The thermal village has 2 jacuzzi's/saunas which were complimentary (but stay overpriced in first place). Didn't have to book thermal village but you might have to awkwardly share if it's busy. Dinner was good but overpriced. Steak €48 which didn't include sides. Glass of wine €15, cocktails €17. Breakfast was good with good quality ingredients. Also nice coffee shop onsite. No entertainment or TV in the bars. Staff were very nice but it's like a wedding venue. Better options like Carton House or Mount Juliet imo.

The restaurant food was lovely , as were the grounds of the hotel but the bedroom decor was awful. The room was a lily pond room situated in an old house. It was an apartment style set up& we could hear guests above us clearly, even to the point that we could hear someone snore all night. The decor of the room was awful, it was dark and depressing. The bathroom window and blind was broken. There was a scent being filtered in the hall which was lovely but the room did not smell good (explaining why the scent was in the hall) Certain areas were also dilapidated looking , like the reception area and entry to the pub/oratory.

First off I have to say we didn't actually get to stay there. This review is a warning. I'd wanted to experience Lyons and booked in for a night with the dinner included package. A bereavement forced us to cancel at short notice, 2 days before. Was told that as cancellation was within the week the fee would be forfeit. The only flexibility offering was to re-schedule, not at the original price, but at the booking price of the new day. The re-schedule options were now into summer season, considerably more expensive so we couldn't afford to. Suggested even a lunch voucher for the Mill to offset our loss, but was told it didn't work like that and the two work separately (even though dinner there was part of package). So be very aware of there cancellation policy. There is no flexibility. The experience has tainted my wish to visit Lyons now, and will try someone else next time I have the chance. It's a shame, but in the end occupancy and revenue mattered most to them.

We recently stayed at The Cliff at Lyons for a two-night B&B package, which included one dinner and two 30-minute spa treatments, for approximately €1,200. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations, particularly given the premium pricing. The cleanliness of the property was noticeably below par. Windows were dirty, carpets looked like they hadn’t been hoovered properly, and there was visible dust on skirting boards along with cobwebs in several areas. The towels in the bathroom were worn and frayed, which contributed to an overall impression of tiredness and lack of attention to detail. We dined in the Mill restaurant on both nights. On the first evening, the food was just about adequate — served warm rather than hot — but we chose not to raise it at the time. However, on the second night, both of our main courses arrived barely lukewarm. After sending them back, they returned around 15 minutes later only slightly warmer, which was very disappointing. That said, the staff we encountered were friendly and courteous throughout. While they weren’t able to turn the experience around, it’s only fair to say they were not part of the problem. Overall, what should have been a relaxing and luxurious stay fell far short of the mark. The setting has great potential, but the lack of basic standards makes it difficult to recommend — and we’re unlikely to return.

2 night stay which was first class , it’s an old mill with a series of refurbished buildings offering accommodation, ours had a period feel and was well appointed. A consideration would be the short walk to reception or for food and drink . Breakfast was 1st class while the evening meal was too rich for us with nothing plain on offer .. all told we enjoyed our stay and would hope to return at some stage
