Three Island Motel

During our delightful two-day stay at this charming motel, we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional amenities and service it offered. From arrival to departure, our experience was truly memorable. A standout feature was the well-equipped room with a convenient kitchenette, unexpectedly enhancing our stay. The stocked kitchenette made preparing home-cooked meals a breeze, providing a sense of comfort akin to being at home. Notably, the coffee provided exceeded expectations, boasting a remarkably high quality that jump-started our mornings with its rich and robust flavor. The motel staff's friendliness and attentiveness made us feel valued throughout our stay. The unexpected extra amenities showcased their dedication to ensuring our comfort and enjoyment. Cleanliness was impeccable, a testament to the housekeeping team's pride in their work. Returning to a spotless room after exploring was always a pleasure, and the inviting beds ensured a restful night's sleep. In summation, our experience at this motel was outstanding. The kitchenette, quality coffee, and extra touches made our stay memorable. The staff's friendliness and attention to detail enhanced our comfort, while the pristine room underscored their commitment to excellence. We eagerly anticipate our next visit.

Disappointing to say the least. Don’t expect $108 a night. We paid $163.85 for a really dilapidated room. The floor was so sticky we had to keep our shoes on at all times. Warm winter sheets on the bed in the middle of summer. No screens on bedroom window and the old window air conditioner was hard pressed to cool us. We had a fridge and stove but the utensils looked like they came from a garage sale. The killer was the bugs crawling on the bathroom floor……we didn’t shower and left asap. And a lamp with no shade just because they could!

The owner/manager was very friendly and helped when I asked such as replacing a stained/unclean hand towel and providing ice for my cooler. I did sleep fairly well as it is a quiet location (after business hours) and the bed was quite comfy. I found in my room there was no lock on the front window. Being a solo traveller, I put the one (wooden) chair up against the doorknob to feel safe. Not that I would be using this chair as it had a dirty, sticky mark, like a footprint on it. No decaf coffee available and the bathroom fan desparately needs some maintenance! Lastly, the freezer part of the room fridge needs a cleaning!

This was our first visit in three years, as theatres have reopened and we were able to make our annual visit to Globus Theatre, which is about ten kilometres south of Bobcaygeon. In the interim the motel has changed hands. I’m glad to say that it is still an excellent place to stay. The rooms are pleasantly updated and very comfortable, the motel is set well back from the road. From the road it doesn’t look as good as it is. Maybe it could be helped with a bit of planting or other sight enhancements.
