The hotel is an absolute dream. You arrive and feel right at home. The staff was extremely friendly and always happy. Every single bungalow is beautifully situated under tropical trees and plants, where you can wake up every day to the sound of birds chirping. We especially loved the natural design. Everything is made of wood and natural materials, but it is totally clean. In the evening someone even comes by to eliminate mosquitoes and make the bed mosquito-proof. The pools are also wonderfully located with an oceanview. Another cool thing is that the hotel is not in the middle of the tourist area but rather among locals, so you get both - luxury but still get to know the life of the locals. For us definitely the best combination. So all in all really recommendable if you love peace and nature, but still want to do trips or other fun things.

how to sum up a fantastic week at the Sevi Boutique Hotel in a paradise, on a beautiful white sandy beach. Idyllic location to relax, the bungalows are large and very cozy, the surrounding amazing and the food was delicious. It was hard to leave this heaven. Thank you all for your kindness, the waiters and waitresses are all adorable and hyper helpful. So a big big thank you to them, to Aïsha, to Mr "Martin Lawrence" for the nice chats with a perfect English accent ! And a special big hug to Massoud for his kindness, heart-warming & beautiful smile. This stay will remain in our memories! thank you !!

This is our second trip to Zanzibar in the past two years. There was no question about where we would stay, as the Sevi is just perfect is every aspect. The location and chill atmosphere of the entire hotel sets you up for complete relaxation, from the moment you pass through the hotel reception. The entire hotel is set in an amazing palm tree forest directly on the ocean front, proving access to an immaculate powdery white sand beach. We had an ocean front villa which blew us a way, with an amazing combination of indoor and outdoor space, with ocean views and a private pool. We opted for the half board food tarrif and this did not disappoint. A very substantial good quality breakfast, with everything you could wish for. The same with our evening meals, with at least two choices of starter, mains and dessert. On two of the nights there is a Swahili tradition buffet and poolside BBQ. Each of these evenings were fantastic. There is also a great selection of wines available. Finally, the highlight of the hotel is the staff. Each and every single person we met at the Sevi just couldn't do enough for us. They are friendly, welcoming and genuinely want you to have the best time at the Sevi. I feel like we will be back there again to make it a hat-trick of 3 stays.

HI Traveller's. Photo are not realistic. The site is quite leave abandoned in many ways. The staff is doing its best though to give a good experience but super tough knowing the state of the pool, the rooms etc. Its ashamed because the spot is quite good and the beach front relatively calm compare to the south of the island. The owner should put money at least to clean, upgrade and put something good to protect the open space in the upstairs space. There is not even window there, just a so call net. In fact mosquito and insect can come anywhere. Last but not least the fooding. Its a disgrace. Really. We paid USD 80 !!!! for a Christmas eve diner. THIS is a total joke believe me. I write a joke not to say something else. Seriously. Its embarrassing. And for the breakfast. A joke. The only hotel where ther serve scramble, but when asking just a bit of cheese, you have to pay an extra, same for sausages of course. Conclusion we walk every night 300m south the coast to find a very nice hotel / restaurant. I do not mentioned the name here, but easy to find. 100% better and same price. Again this has nothing to do with the staff. But seriously, you have to stop renting this place and first make it proper.

Very disappointing! Booked the ‘SeVi boutique hotel’ via Victoria Charters and have requested to move. Continued construction/drilling noise since my arrival. I need 24/7 panadol and ear plugs. Not the relaxing holiday I needed so badly.

Beautiful cottage rooms, grounds, restaurant, and a wonderful spa. It is Island perfect, waking to the sunrise each morning. Situated in a fishing village, we watched the boats leave every morning with locals to return mid day with their catch. The beach was beautiful although it required trudging through a ton of seaweed to walk out to the sand reef. The pools were perfect as well. The staff was very receptive and accommodating.

Was at Sevi Boutique Hotel for a Fam trip to see the hotel first hand, as a Tour operator company, we insist on selling what we have already seen and experienced. This is a nice small Boutique hotel with wonderful location, good service from the staff and nice confortable cozy rooms to unwind in Zanzibar. The beach is also good

The hotel is situated on a lovely, powdery white sandy beach, in a cove and away from the hustle of the main Matemwe beach. The property has luscious gardens and a spa on site offering competitively prices services. Bungalows are of a great size, with large, comfy beds, a plunge pool and a second floor that can be used as a study, spare room or for me, yoga space. Excellent water pressure in the shower and good air conditioning, although environmentally not optimal given the windows and doors are made of wooden slats and therefore letting warm air in all the time! The property has 3 lovely pools, with the infinity one being my favourite! The restaurant is fantastic, with delicious, high quality food and excellent wine pairings. Portions are on the smaller side compared to other places on the beach but the taste more than makes up for it. The staff are amazing! Special mention to Salum (restaurant) and Kisa (reception) who were incredibly helpful and super friendly. In general, all staff were polite, smiling and kind although some appeared to be new and being trained. A few things that weren't great: 1. It is very noisy late at nights due to the very many cats on the property engaging in raging fights and in the mornings because the staff are talking loudly to each other whilst cleaning the compound and so it makes it impossible to sleep throughout the night or to sleep in. I do wonder if this may only be applicable to certain bungalows. I stayed in Bungalow 10, which was quite noisy and not being able to sleep well at night and being woken up so early made me quite grumpy. 2. The internet was intermittent and kept dropping. Reconnection requires you to log in again...which is frustrating 3. The bungalows don't have mosquito screens on the windows or doors and as these are made of slats, it is practically impossible to sit in the living room area or upstairs without being devoured by mosquitoes. 4. Power outages were frequent and the property does not have a functional generator (which is a safety issue for me). There were no provisions of flash lights or candles either. It would be helpful if the property indicates the schedule of cuts (if known) when people check in.

We enjoyed the Easter weekend from 28 March to 01 April. The hotel closed on 01 April for 2 months to allow for maintenance during the rainy season. We specifically chose this location due to it having free standing units with some on the beach and its close proximity to dive shops pn Matemwe beach. Big was our surprise that we got upgraded to their biggest unit on the beach! The Staff was top notch and the service excellent. The best we have experienced on Zanzi. Great food, beautiful rooms. With exception to the big family unit, all rooms are the same size and share the same layout, which is very spacious. The hotel has two pools and the 2 units on the beach each have a private splash pool. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff was great and really made our stay enjoyable. Keep in mind that Zanzi suffers from regular power cuts. The hotel does not have backup power which means that if it is a lengthy cut the rooms can become a bit hot. Don't let that discourage you to book with them!
