We stayed here for 3 nights. Arrived at hotel, presented ourselves to the checkin/reception desk. The lady glanced up briefly then put her head down. We wait a couple of seconds and then with no eye contact, or more importantly a smile and welcome said "passport ..(and something else in *********) we politely asked if she wanted our Agoda reservation number. This visibly irritated her and she requested the same thing again. We gave her our Agoda reservation confirmation. She took this, head down filled in something looked up and gave us a key card and printout and said breakfast times, no smile at all. We went to our room on the second floor and as we opened the door a stench of bad drains and a musty odour hit the back of our throats . We went in and looked around and the room was a twin room about 7ft x 10ft with a window that had no view but a concrete wall (there is a hotel being built next door , literally a hand touch a way from your window). We went back to the reception lady to say that we were not happy with the room , she dialled a number and handed the phone to me. On the end of the phone was a really nice lady, I explained the situation. She explained the situation to the receptionist who said after translation that we could change our room the next day. Next day the receptionist gave us a new room key on a higher floor, which was brighter and smelt fine. We thanked her. On our second day we went out from mid day to 23.00 approx we got back and our room had not been cleaned, we went to reception. This time a man was on the desk with his colleague leaving her shift . He looked up at us with disregard and put his head down. His colleague was embarrassed and prodded him, he finally looked up at us with no smile, but irritation . By this time I had typed in Google translator that our room had not be changed and please could we have 2 towels . His demeanour changed and he asked our room number. The towels were delivered to us by the same man, funny enough smiling this time. We stayed 2 nights in this room and although the first room was not up to our standard which we expected for £65 , the second room was OK and brighter. We went to breakfast on the first morning but all the dishes were ********* without labels. So although the breakfast area was simple and clean, we did not attempt to try any of the various soup dishes with various meats floating around in them . No doubt if you are use to this sort of breakfast it might have been delicious. In all fairness, in my opinion this hotel is not for Europeans or English speakers. The reception team in all my many years of travelling to date, were the most unfriendly and unwelcoming I have come across. The plus point is that this hotel is very close to MRT , but that said look around there were many other hotels that looked more welcoming. We would not return to this hotel !
