Liyya Water Villas

Very good location and friendly helpful staff ensured we had an enjoyable stay for one night as part of a private drive tour round Sri Lanka. Food was fine, but not exceptional, buffet style with penty of options. Rooms large and generally well equipped. Quiiet so had a good nights sleep. The first step up to our chalet 102 was much higher than the norm making access a bit of a challenge.

Review Pros • nice architecture from the outside. Inside , not so nice. Towels and bedsheet at a tad jaded. Cons • Poor service. You need to remind staff 2-3 times to get what you ask for (e.g., hot water, coffee, or smaller change). • buffet dinner is served cold. Even tho we showed up at 7.30pm when the restaurant just opened. • Despite the restaurant being only 20% full, service is slow and inefficient. You don’t get what you request and you need to remind them again and again. Do stay at any place but not here.

Property is very decent and well maintained besides a water pond. Rooms are large and comfortable with open to sky restrooms. Food quality and service do deserve special mention. We being strict vegetarians, could get some of the best food in Lanka served with lots of love. Can improve with more and accessible plug sockets. Recommended

Located on the edge of a forest, this beautiful place offered us a good stay in their water villas. The ambience is good. Villas are huge with very few amenities. Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the villas and we had to work from the reception area. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner was spacious. Food quality is good. Above all I would like to make a special mention about the front office staff, Kanishka and Chandana for their committed work ethics and helpful nature. Last but not least, Mahinder in the restaurant was an exceptional character, very helpful and suggesting the dishes we should try. This property is really nice and an ideal location for a get away. Great staff and nice food. Ideal location for explore Dumbulla region. Very creative villas stay faced to lake view. And covered with a lot of forest greenery. Staffs are really friendly and always willing to help. Great option for to consider.
