First time at the Samira but not the first time in Kalkan. Honestly, if you’ve read bad reviews don’t believe them. The pool area is stunning, well refurbished and spotless. Pool toilets and shower area are also spotlessly clean and brand new. The breakfast was a traditional Turkish one and was lovely and fresh every morning. Couldn’t fault it. Brilliant breakfast staff, Taysun, one of the waiters worked so hard and was very attentive always keeping our morning coffee cup topped up with a smile and a chat. All of the other breakfast staff were lovely too and worked so hard to keep the guests happy. The rooms - yes, they need updating, but they’re clean and well equipped. In gorgeous weather you don’t spend hours in them anyway, and the balcony was fantastic and again spotlessly clean. The hotel are working to renovate the rooms bit by bit, but the bed was comfy and we were given extra blankets because we were a little chilly and it was perfect. The bar staff were great, Eren and Enes and the ladies who managed the till worked hard to make sure everyone had what they wanted and the drinks were fantastic. The chef even cooked my husband Menemen which wasn’t on the menu. Everyone was so welcoming and lovely, we honestly couldn’t fault our stay.
