Lemala Wildwaters Lodge

We recently stayed at Lemala Wildwaters Lodge, spending $550 per night, expecting a luxurious and relaxing experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing. At first, the lodge looked beautiful, but as soon as we were taken to our room, the issues started. The main attraction of the room—the outdoor bathtub—lacked a privacy wall, making it completely exposed to other rooms. This was never mentioned during booking, and had we known, we wouldn’t have chosen this room. When we requested a room change, the manager simply told us there was no availability and offered no solution. Another major issue was the cleanliness. The room was filled with lizards, and their droppings were everywhere—even near the kettle and cups. There were multiple lizards under the bathroom sink as well. While we understand the lodge is in the middle of nature, basic pest control and fumigation should be maintained, especially at this price point. We also wanted to enjoy some international beers listed on the menu, but they were unavailable. The manager promised to arrange them but disappeared after our complaint and never followed up. The food was also very average and the vegetarian options were extremely limited, with only 2-3 choices. The cereal & granolas served for breakfast were stale and not fresh because they were served in open bowls instead or closed jars. For a property at this level, we expected a much better dining experience. The glass door in the room was not soundproof, making it difficult to sleep due to the loud water noise all night. If you like quiet sleep then avoid this property. Some areas of the property were not well-maintained—spider webs were left unattended, and lounging couches had spiders around them, making it uncomfortable. Not to mention the use of cheap quality switches in the room which was so difficult to even press for charging our phones. The pool, which is quite small, was overcrowded with day visitors when we wanted to use it. Worse, it was dirty and had an unpleasant smell, making it completely uninviting. Overall, while some staff members were helpful, the manager’s lack of concern and the poor maintenance of the property made this stay far from enjoyable. For the amount we spent, this was not worth it at all. There are far better options available, and I wouldn’t recommend wasting money here.

We stayed at world waters for two nights which was a wonderful relaxing time the staff could not be any better polite courteous and anything we asked for they did

Holiday Perfect destination, awesome staff and great services. Bungee jump was magical. Rooms and surrounding clean, organised and neat. Great food and wines. Had longed to visit Lemala and the experience was exactly as anticipated. Will come again!

Be careful with some trip advisors some are thieves mostly on tiktok, the give quotation of lemala wild waters and wrong pricing and they send you something like this. Hello, We charge 700,000Ugshs per couple per 24hour stay on fullboard basis and 1,200,000Ugshs for a couple on fullboard basis stay per 2 nights for all ongoing bookings. Full board includes road transfers (pickup and drop off) and from Kampala, bed, breakfast (of your choice), three course lunch and a Romantic candle light dinner, swimming, executive boat transfers to and from the island, spa treat (sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi and massage) , ziplining, horse riding, quad biking, campfire and other available outdoor activities. For a honeymoon package, you can have a saxophonist, private boat cruise, flying lanterns, tubing, bungee jumping and Parisian padlock for lovers as an extra. Daycation access for walk-in customers (9:00am to 5:00pm) is 50$ (190,000Ugshs) per person. This covers boat transfers , a three course ala-cart lunch and swimming. Thank you.

Wild Waters is a marvelous venue. The cottages are top notch, the views are spectacular, and the staff is especially friendly and helpful. If you are into white water rafting, this is your place. If not, there’s a lovely deck and infinity pool right on the river.
