Regnum Carya

Best hotel with family.with service and zoo. And new Crown Regnum will be fantastic hotel. We stayed with my family in the villa Amber. With own exclusive Alia beach which situated on the beach with white Maldive sand and exclusive restaurant.

For context, my husband and I have been privileged to have stayed in many luxury 5* hotels across Europe, the UAE, the Caribbean, Africa and North America. Previous holidays have included stays in the following hotel brands; Ikos, Rixos, Barut, Excellence and Secrets Resorts, Royalton, Jumeirah, Riu, Hyatt. This trip to Regnum Carya in October was our 18th all inclusive holiday in Turkey. Recently we enjoyed stays at NG Phaselis Bay in Kemer, Voyage Torba, The Residence Fethiye and Cullinan Belek. Highlights • Top highlight award goes to the gym! Hands down the Regnum gym has the most extensive range of new gym equipment of any hotel or health club we have ever visited. It was almost a pleasure to go each morning haha. • Jade room was spacious and well equipped with separate dressing area, great mini bar, large terrace with picturesque, far reaching views over the villas and golf course • We loved the spacious grounds, beach area and pier • The shows, beach party and a couple of the lives bands were top class and overall the evenings were good fun • All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional • Service at the activity pool was seamless • Other than a disappointing first night meal in the Irish Bar, all our evening a la carte meals were very nice Other reflexions • Lunch We don’t generally enjoy buffet dining, so the lack of a la carte restaurant options (as opposed to a la carte snack restaurants) at breakfast and lunchtime was a disappointment. Whilst both Gusto and Palm Beach Club offered a varied lunchtime menu, the venues themselves didn’t scream 5* top class dining experience as one might expect in line with the Regnum price point. Unfortunately, due to the open air setting, our lunchtime meals were adversely impacted by guests smoking (as of course they are entitled to) nearby. Voyage Torba, for example, has 4 a la carte breakfast restaurants plus buffet and 5 a la carte lunch restaurants plus buffet several with indoor and outdoor seating. The Ikos hotels also offer multiple a la carte dining options at all meal times. Maybe we were unlucky, but due to the open air nature of Gusto and Palm Beach Club we didn’t manage to enjoy a single smoke-free lunch. This would be one key reason why we would be unlikely to return to the Regnum • Drinks The cocktail menu was limited and uninspiring in comparison with other hotels (like Cullinan, NG Phaselis Bay, Voyage etc) and the same drinks menu was offered at all the bars. The presentation of the cocktails was very bland, particularly around the pools where cocktails were served in disposable domed, plastic cups more suited to a frappuccino than a frozen daiquiri or Bloody Mary. I understand the need for safe glassware but reusable plastic cocktail and wine glasses, in place of a cheap throw away plastic cup, would have been in keeping with a more upmarket vibe (and obviously more eco friendly). At Green Bar one evening I asked for a French 75 cocktail, but unfortunately

Super family holiday location. Absolutely beautiful resort with incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. We were upgraded to a villa on arrival which was perfectly serviced by the golf buggy shuttles - all very easily managed by the WhatsApp assist - and the room was beautiful. Young kids activity pool was fab and thankfully heated. Did expect main pools to be warmer (said 30degrees but felt cooler) but still ok to swim. Lots of drink and snack options around although would be great to have drinks menus. The negative was - as others have reviewed - the a la carte restaurants. There needs to be clearer expectations when you book that you will not be able to access restaurants easily. The WhatsApp works perfectly to book (we never queued in person) but we could only book by texting at 8am for two nights time. This meant the first three nights our stay had to be in the buffet because they were already fully booked before we’d even arrived - which was not my expectation. In addition every restaurant we visited was very very quiet so I am unsure how the reservations are managed and why there isnt a two sitting system when it seems they are so in demand. Restaurant quality was fantastic and we were sad not to have been able to experience more of them. Final positives - the hotel transfer is first class ++ and the benefit of the VIP/ fast track at the airport was also hugely helpful.
