Juneau Hotel

I arrived in Juneau the night before my cruise was set to depart. The Juneau Hotel offers a free shuttle from the airport that was easy to find and convenient. The room was enormous and comfortable. The most amazing part was that in the morning, there were a bunch of us in the lobby at the same time who happened to be joining the same cruise. It was raining and we were strategizing about the best way to get our luggage down to the cruise dock. Without being asked, the front desk receptionist offered to take all the bags down there in his mini van. We loaded it up, one or two guests went with him, and the rest of us did the easy walk over there. It was a small gesture that made all of our lives so much easier. Just lovely.

We had a fantastic stay at the Juneau Hotel. Our room was clean and smelled clean and fresh as well. It was spacious and had a great kitchen. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and having a washer and dryer in the room was convenient. My husband particularly enjoyed the excellent water pressure. The staff were all friendly and made us feel very welcome. The hotel's location was perfect, within walking distance to downtown and the Gastineau Channel. We would rate our experience a perfect 10/10 and highly recommend it!

Great location! Right next to a quiet park with a nice little river beach area and beautiful photo spot. Perfect location if you like to start the day with a peaceful walk, run, or watching the sunrise! Helpful staff, excellent beds! Good restaurant and grocery store 4 blocks away.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel. I was traveling with my wife and daughter, so we booked a suite with 2 bedrooms. We moved our luggage to the hotel about 11:30 and told them we would be back at check-in to move into our room. I had been fishing and wanted to change my clothes and shower about 2;30. The room was not ready. I went for a walk, and we all got back around 3:00. Because we wanted to get ready for some shopping and dinner we waited in the lobby. Despite knowing we were waiting, the room was the last one done and not ready until 4:45. When we finally got in, the room had been given at best a cursory cleaning. The floors still had debris, the counters were barely wiped and still had leftovers, and there were dishes in the dishwasher. We went ahead and lived with it, took showers and went out for the evening. There was no one at the front desk to talk to about it. The next morning, we got up early and left, putting the Maid Service sign up. We returned after dinner that evening and the room had not been touched. When this was stated to the front desk, we were told they had given us towels but the cleaning staff was gone so they couldn't do anything about the room. When we checked out the next day the person at the front desk avoided asking about our stay and rushed us out. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

The staff were so helpful and kind. We had a few airline issues and were able to use the free shuttle to go to the airport and sort out the problem. They upgraded us to a suite for free and there was everything we needed. Great location in downtown, convenient to everything.

Hotel was clean. It is what you would expect from a hotel in a smaller Alaskan city. Walls were kind of thin. I was on the road side so i could hear the cars going by but it tapered off after 10pm. All the hotel staff was friendly. Loved having a washer and dryer in the unit. Would stay here again.

Great hotel! We had a queen suite (6 night stay). Close to everything, yet away from the busy. Hotel was clean, vaulted ceilings made it feel more like apartment than hotel. Kitchenette was so nice too. They had a filter under the sink, we had great drinking water too. I was concerned about some reviews, so glad I chose it. We had a problem with our reservation (not mine Conceirge). Me being me, called myself to check. Lyn helped me with the booking problem. Had she not helped me, I would have had an extra charge at arrival. Thanks to her, it was taken care of and we had no problems. They really care and take care of your situation. I was so impressed with their service. General Mgr was so nice and helpful too. They gave us great recommendations. We had shuttle to rental car. The park across the street is beautiful. Easy walks to get around. We had a great time, great location. Close to everything. Will definitely think about again.

My wife and I stayed two nights before embarking on a two-day cruise from Juneau and could not have been happier with the hotel. The room (a two-room suite with kitchentte) was large, comfortable and clean. The desk staff were very friendly and very helpful with information about the sites, taxis and restaurants. The location is not as central as other downtown hotels, but it is only a five minute walk to the grocery store and the best breakfast restaurant in town, and only 10 minutes to the shopping/tourist center. Also, it is very close to the channel, near a nice park, with great views and bald eagles circling overhead.

Despite what they advertised on their website, they refused to pay for a taxi or shuttle from airport. The website said you need to call 24 hours in advance to reserve an airport shuttle, (which I did) and they STILL advertised this one day before arrival! Yet they stated that their policy changed and only offered airport shuttles 3 times per day at fixed times. They should have at least grandfathered their policy and paid for an airport taxi. False advertising!!
