Marble Hill Resort is a tale of two resorts. Resort A has some of the best people working there. We stayed in a Bungalow room and it was clean, nicely appointed and the view was lovely. Food was excellent throughout. Grounds were clean and well attended to. Diving was excellent. Divemaster Edward was awesome. Samantha, the only concierge we ever saw, went way beyond anything we could expect. As I said, the people were fantastic. We met several couples that we became fast friends. Resort B was weird. First, in January, usually high season, there were only 12 guests in a resort that could support well over a hundred. Weird. Very little on the property was open. 1 restaurant, not 4 as advertised. Creamery closed. Brewery closed. Distillery closed. Bathroom in Main House flooded from the first day we got there and was never attended to. No live music, nature walk was through an overgrown path. Room pool leaked and needed to be refilled nearly daily. Also unheated. No night dive offered. Dive shop closed after morning second dive. Email correspondence was always signed by "Andrea van der Waag", however this person doesn't exist in our experience. Samantha was the head concierge and did a fine job. Did we get our monies worth? Maybe. Will we come back? Depends on whether the owner gets their sh*t together. Depends on which resort survives.

The Resort at Marble Hill not only met my expectations, it exceeded them . The staff all friendly, proficient, warm, and welcoming. They will do anything to meet your needs - just ask them or the conseriage team, it will be met. I went for the diving, and all the reviews really pointed to this resort for me. I'm glad they did. The Resort is located on the quiet eastern section of the island away from cruise ships and large schools of tourists. (if you want to bar hop, go elsewhere) if you want to relax, eat great food, be treated like a person and not a number, dive on reefs pretty much alone, this is your place. It's great to dive on the reefs just off-shore from the hotel, and with no other dive boats around. The dive staff are amazing from the boat capitan to the dive masters, and especially to the all important instructors....Very personal and supportive - even to a challenging student like me. The packages are a good deal when you consider the quality you get. There are some additional touches you won't find elsewhere. It's heavy on the farm to table ideals, with their own gardens, a creamery that produces great cheeses and a brewery pushing out fine cerveza. They are gunna have a distillery soon (so that will lure me back). If you go, I promise you will return. Oh, and go for the bungalow with the pools. Sent from my iPhone

The resort is really up and coming. It has its own farm, brewery, distillery and creamery. Adults only was a nice change. The dive boat was often a little crammed, but never unsafe. The best part was they excelled on my Vegan diet. World class.

This 30+ acre resort is an absolute gem! The 16 bungalows, 4 treehouses, and 4 sea view rooms have stunning views, wonderful appointments, and are part of a great property that includes it's own brewery, distillery, creamery, and vegetable gardens. Food Service is excellent and there is a snack bar and grill down next to the dive shop over the water for relaxing cocktails and/or a meal. The dive operation is very good with the compressor, nitrox, and rental gear all immediately next to where the boat launches. The entire place is top drawer and very relaxing, max accommodations are for approximately 54-58 people. I feel it rivals Jade Mountain in St Lucia as one of the top dive resorts in the caribbean, if not the world!

The resort is very good, the tree house was awesome, the food is diverse and tasty. The waiting staff was attentive and courteous. The brewery and creamery tours and tastings were educational and excellent. Now about the diving operation. First and foremost, the resort was not prepared to accommodate a group of 20 plus divers. There should be enough nitrox tanks for all divers, for 2 or 3 dives/day. That was not the case. We were in the small boat, which was very crowded with 8 or 9 divers each day. It was impossible for all divers to gear up together. There was also not enough shade or comfortable seating on that boat, and no space to leave glasses, dry clothes, etc. The dive guide and skipper, Joseph and Aisley, were very good and helpfull, although the management would do well in giving them some training: There should be dry towels and water + cups in the boat at all times, which was not the case. I would strongly recommend The Resort at Marble Hill as a tourism destination, for ziplining in the area, visiting the zoo, etc, but not as a dive resort.

The Resort At Marble Hill hosted the return of diving for my husband and myself. We had not been in the water for a few years and were a little anxious about it. Diving was the primary reason for choosing this location. And it did not disappoint. The diving staff was great. Edward was our primary divemaster and he was knowledgeable about the dive sites and did a good job with managing the equipment-both the change out and the storage. The dive sites were easy to get to with short boat rides and a return to the dock for the surface interval. The corals had showed a little bleaching - don't know if climate change or overuse is the culprit there. The boat was small, but comfortable for small groups, but we didn't get any safety briefing about the boat. Were there life vests? Fire extinguisher or radio to shore? We needed to bring our own water if we wanted it on the boat, but is was available on the dock before, during and after the dives. The rooms are pretty nice. We had a sea view casita, with a nice closet (no closets in the rooms w/plunge pools, nice bathroom, but the lanai had only one hammock and a table with stools, so couldn't really lounge around on the deck. You might not want to anyway because of the bugs. They are fierce and plentiful and will cover you in bites quickly. Strong bug repellent is a must and the hotel didn't have it readily available. The dining room is small and I imagine if the hotel is booked, guests will have to eat on the patio (remember the bugs!), which wouldn't be ideal. I am a T1 diabetic and have a very limited diet. It took some back and forth, but the chef did his best to accommodate my special needs, even asking me for a shopping list of things I might want. Finally, the real problem with this resort is the terrain. The resort is built on a hill and the hill is steep. The pathways are inconsistent. Some wooden walkway areas, but a lot of paths covered in rock. The rocks are not stable, especially after a hard rain (which we had) as many of them wash downhill. When there are steps, they too are inconsistent. The risers and steps are not uniform and there are too few handrails. It would be impossible for guests with mobility issues to get around. The second problem with this resort is the lack of beach and resort pool. On the website, it lists "Pool with view", which we misinterpreted to mean that there was a resort pool. Technically, there are pools with views, but they are private bungalows with a plunge pool. It appears that the resort is on a path to improvement. They are expanding their dairy and garden, in order to become more ecological. They are building a beach, but as yet it is unusable. You can hike through the underbrush or kayak over to the beach, but it is not very accessible. They are expanding their brewery to include a distillery. It's work in progress, and I think it will get there, but it's just not quite there yet.

My husband and I recently returned from a wonderful week of diving at the Resort at Marble Hill. Prior to our arrival, I read all 199 reviews on Trip Advisor so I would know what to expect. The most important aspects for me (aside from a great diving experience) were the ability of the resort to accommodate my dietary restrictions and reliable air conditioning in our room - both of which are related to a medical condition. We had a slight issue upon arrival with our air conditioning and the staff truly bent over backwards to try to accommodate us and solve the problem. So this is what I would say about the resort... 1) The staff is outstanding in every department. Every single staff member was friendly, professional, and attentive. 2) The bungalows are gorgeous and the cleaning staff leaves them immaculate every day. Very nice bath products as well. 3) The diving was great. They run a small boat which I think could accommodate up to 12 but we never had that many. Easy to get in (back roll) and out (nice, sturdy ladder) of the water. 4) The grounds are beautifully maintained. 5) The food is very good. What I think should also be said... 1) The terrain of this property can be VERY challenging, especially during and after rain. My husband and I have been on dozens of dive trips and could easily come up with 20 names of people we've met who physically could absolutely not manage this property. In order to get from your room to the dock or restaurant, you will be hiking some very unsteady and steep terrain. I read this in previous review but it was more challenging than I expected. 2) If you have a medical condition which requires reliable electricity (i.e. air conditioning at night, a CPAP, or refrigerated medications) you should take into account that the power can go out at any time and there isn't a generator on the property. We experienced a power outage while we were there - which thankfully was restored before bedtime and before refrigerated medications spoiled - but it was scary trying to figure out how we were going to manage the situation. 3) If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, be prepared with snacks from home and to figure out food modifications for yourself. Prior to our arrival, we filled out forms indicating I have a number of dietary restrictions (which were acknowledged by the resort) and when we arrived they asked me to fill out paper forms asking me again if I had any dietary restrictions. I wasn't offered any food modifications during the week but I was able to work around by ordering from the menu "without the _____" and substituting items. However, on the one day I relied upon the chef's discretion, he sent a sandwich and potato salad for my picnic lunch. This would be fine for anyone else except I can't eat bread or potatoes so that was a huge disappointment. I would highly recommend Marble Hill to MOST people, but not everyone. Tip - bring an umbrella, DEET bug spray, and an extra flashlight

A general overview to start - this resort is absolutely beautiful. My wife and I went with another couple to scuba dive. The resort itself is immaculate. They have a brewery and creamery right on premises which you can take a tour of. Our group of four was lucky enough to be the only guests on the resort for the whole week so we were spoiled rotten. The food was delicious - we were even surprised from time to time with special meals and desserts. We stayed in one of their Seaview rooms and they don't lie! One wall is nothing but windows which over looks the ocean. Now THAT is a sight to wake up to every morning. The diving was probably some of the best we've experienced. Our dive guide Eddie was fantastic. He was pointing out some of the smaller things which we would have easily swam past. Captain Sam was quiet, but a very good Captain and opened up a bit as the week went on. We got to meet brewmaster Rob - really nice guy - this was nice because he was more than happy to share his brewing knowledge with me, an amateur brewer. A tip though, if you're going for the diving, get to breakfast and order before or around 7am - that'll give you enough time to eat comfortably and still make it to the boat on time. Anyway, we absolutely loved our week here. The bartender makes a really good Long Island Iced Tea! <3

I stopped in for lunch and was greeted so warmly from their friendly and welcoming staff! I’ve been to the island several times and hands down I had the BEST meal I’ve ever had on this island! If you could imagine gourmet steak fajitas at their absolute best! The grounds are lovely and elegant. I recommend!
