There are pros and cons to everything! I have mixed feelings about this resort so I’ll try to break it down accordingly: Check in was easy understanding the staff can only assist one customer at a time. Once my turn Paulette was super and friendly on getting me checked in. She explained everything in detail and had me to take a photo of the restaurants and their operating hours. She explained room keys and the safe lock and key. My room was in the perfect area with a fabulous view. I was a little taken back when I walked in the room and saw it. It’s definitely dated! While it was mediocre clean the floors never turned my feet black but I was quick to use my slipper socks. A deep cleaning should be high on the list especially paying attention to grout deep cleaning! The air conditioner stays on but cools well and the ceiling bed worked great. My bed was comfortable as were the fabulous king size pillows. I was glad to have the throw blanket in the closet and used it. Had an iron and board not that I needed either but the room had no coffee or coffee maker, no hair dryer, no mini fridge…..but you get an iron no one uses anymore. I had two juice size glasses but I had to wash them in the bathroom sink. The WiFi was weak and only worked in my room. There are only 9 tv channels. No pictures on the walls so a basic room! Shortly after in my room Paulette did call to say I had an upgrade. The whole time I was thinking WTH would I have had before!!! No cushion for the patio bench. It’s a cement built in with a wonderful view. The shower is standing room only where the water goes from hot to cold in a matter of seconds. The shower door handle was broken from the inside and absolutely no pride in the painting of the rooms. See pictures! The coffee shop has self serve coffee but area is not well maintained. Coffee was ALWAYS cold! Food in the Palms restaurant was ok. Nothing to rave about and most of the staff has no problem getting in a hurry to wait on you. And a few are not fond of the lighter skin and have no shame in making that known. The Pizza Factory had great food and a fabulous staff!!! Lorenzo was one of the hardest working people I had the pleasure of meeting. He was so nice and friendly and his professionalism was above and beyond comparison. I hope Jolly Beach realizes the asset they have in him and even the staff under him. He has trained them well. I felt the same way about Wilson at the pool bar. I stayed here because they were suppose to have had a spa! NOPE! Their email bounces back and I wasn’t able to call from my room so I walked over. First time there’s a sign saying they’re only open Tuesday and Friday with some notes on the door! Again, see photos! I go again on Tuesday. Nope, not open, no staff, nothing! Totally disappointed!!! There is no housekeeping unless you decide to pay extra. Not happening! You already pay for the resort plus a resort fee of $5 per day in addition to the $14 per day levy tax. Checking out Karla assiste
