Seaview John O Groats Hotel

Absolutely perfect overnight stay. We stayed in Pod 1 which included breakfast for £75. The pods are clean and the beds comfortable. The bed was made up with fresh clean linen. Towels were also included. The pods are basic, but clean and comfortable for an overnight stay. We had an evening meal which was excellent and a full Scottish breakfast which was included in the price..The toilet and showers are in a separate pod, but we're also very clean. Lots of plug sockets if you want to take a travel kettle. All in all friendly, welcoming staff, good food and a great stopover.

We stayed in room 2. The cost, even tough I booked direct was £140.00 and very poor value. took the pillow case of to straighten the pillow and it was dirty and stained. The room was small, the shower tiny and on the floor of the bathroom were balls of fluff. the dressing table was small, like a child's size and the wall mounted TV was the approximately 14 inch screen. There was mould on the bathroom skirting board and the windowsill in the bedroom had black areas where the paint had peeled. The full breakfast was just warm and the black pudding was so hard it surely had been reheated or recooked to be be like charcoal. It was very disappointing to make the 700 miles trip from Bedfordshire to have such a substandard experience. Bring back Travelodge, where I stayed on the way home!.

This hotel is very near to John O' Groats without being there, so is convenient and not as busy. However it has very limited parking along the front of the property which serves both hotel guests and visitors to the restaurant, so it gets full and there isn't really anywhere else to park. It's a large restaurant and we'd booked early, so we got served quickly. The food was OK for the price

Didn't actually stay here and probably wouldn't judging by our experience in the restaurant. Not the best looking of places and decor in the restaurant was very plane and unwelcoming. Food however was great and cheap for what we had. Staff looked like lost sheep from the field opposite and didn't seem to have any conversational skills even when I tried to start one. It was just 'can I take your order please'. Busy place but more due to lack of anything else in the area in my opinion.

Keep driving or stay else where Booked the hotel, payed over odds for the hotel and the nice pictures they portrayed. This was all false advertising, the high speed WiFi well there was no WiFi what so ever not even a signal to get in contact with family. Walked in to book in to be told we wouldn't be staying at the hotel but across the road in the b&b. Walked into the room to the lock hanging off the door and the shower leaking. When went to say the staff kissing in the reception area which is very unprofessional. They "sorted" the problem apparently the battery in the door, when going back into the room which could only be described as a cupboard with a bath room at the very back of a building we found a second door which opened onto someone's back garden, rubbish bins, and electric cupboards, no signal, TV was bright red in picture & remote didn't work. To go away with my husband for the first time in two years drive almost 300 miles and that is what we got instead of what we payed for was a joke. The shower seals were covered in mould, there was holes behind the soap tray, no body wash it was hand wash, mould all over bathroom mirror and slater bugs crawling about the bathroom, fair to say it was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

Stopped in here to grab a bite to eat and was disappointed with the meal. The portion of haddock was small, and possibly frozen not fresh and the chocolate fudge cake was over heated. Wouldn’t eat here again but there’s are t many alternative places to eat, it’s Hobson choice. Didn’t stay here so can’t comment on the rooms.
