My husband and I are Singaporeans , relocated from London to Johannesburg on a work assignment. We were staying in a two -bed apartment , Marriott in Melrose Arch for 2 1/2 years from Jan 2023 till May 2025 . It was a pleasant experience, clean, convenient and secure. Special thanks to Ms Katlego , sales manager who was responsible for ensuring our stay was tailored to our specific needs right from the start. She was prompt in her response and ever ready to help, making settling in a hassle free experience, Special mention to Ms Nomfanelo who was our permanent housekeeping lady during our stay. She was helpful and passionate in making our room clean and comfortable daily. She was efficient and full of initiative in ensuring any malfunction appliances or anything around the apartment, got attended to and never failed to follow up with maintenance department to ensure the job was done and that we were satisfied. That’s the testament to a positive work attitude. She was assisted by Ms Lutendo who was also helpful in the cleaning. Connie, floor manager was also efficient in her supervisory role, dropping by our room monthly to check how satisfied we were with overall housekeeping service. In addition, we were also very happy with the F&B service , especially, Damo ( coffee guy), Njabulo, Sisipho and kitchen staff, ever ready to make our daily dining experiences joyful and satisfying. As of the front desk service, Ms Helen was friendly and helpful in attending to some parcel collection or any ad hoc front desk assistance that was required. On the other hand, the front desk system of managing our loyalty Bonvoy points was appalling. There were lots of inconsistencies and loyalty points issues were not resolved satisfactorily. In general, we had no regrets in choosing Johannesburg Marriott as our long term accommodation because the staff has made our stay feel more like a home, rather than a hotel. Thank you for making us feel safe and welcomed in a strange environment. 😊
