Xishuangbanna Jinghong Jimu River View Hotel (Gaozhuang Xishuangjing Starlight Night Market)

Xishuangbanna Jinghong Jimu River View Hotel is amazing! Located along the riverside, it offers the perfect viewpoint for sunsets and evening views. You can see the bridge across the Mekong River and the buildings on the opposite shore, beautifully lit with colorful lights—a truly breathtaking sight. The hotel is also close to street food vendors and food/fruit shops just below the building. The night market is only a 10-15 minute walk away, making this location ideal. The facilities and services, including A/C, a tea kettle, hair dryer, swimming pool, airport pickup, breakfast, slippers (changed daily!), towels, washing machine (this surprised me!), toothbrush, toothpaste, tissue paper, and more, are excellent—better than other hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s essentially a smart hotel! There’s a Xiaodu AI (like Google Alexa or Siri) to help you manage room functions such as opening/closing curtains, turning lights on/off, and controlling music—it's so innovative! However, it currently only supports Mandarin. The bathroom features an automated toilet with self-flushing, a heated seat, and an automatic bidet. One thing to note is that there is no door or partition between the toilet/bathroom and the bedroom, so it’s an open design. If you’re sharing the room with friends or others you don’t know well, be mindful of this for privacy. The staff here are friendly and helpful, although their English is limited. They do their best to use translation tools, which is appreciated and works fine. Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00, so if you want to enjoy it, an early wake-up is necessary, haha! The food is simple and leans more towards Chinese style rather than Western, with options like noodles, cakes, stir-fried vegetables, soy milk, fresh milk, and watermelon. Overall, I rate this hotel 10/10! The few minor points I mentioned are easy to overlook, and the price is affordable and reasonable. You won’t find another hotel like this anywhere else! Don’t hesitate to make this hotel a memorable part of your trip—you won’t regret it! (I made two bookings for this hotel—so don’t be surprised if you see this review twice!)

Location is very good: rooms are quiet but close to the Night Market and to an extremely wide choice of restaurants and shops. The "River view" rooms, despite being on low floors (3rd and 4th), actually command a very nice view of the Mekong river, due to the elevated position of the building. Facilities are new and clean. Swimming pool is not very large but clean and suitable for a pleasant swim. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. The hotel perfectly arranged pick-up from airport. Besides free airport pick-up, the manager can provide car-with-driver daily rent service at a reasonable price. He is friendly, willing to give information and tips. Breakfast has a quite limited choice, but for the price you cannot expect much more... As mentioned by some other users, the weight-lifting equipment in the gym is out of order. Very nice and modern new hotel. Big rooms with shower, bathtub, washing maschine and great amenities. Variety of breakfast options are offered and included in the room price. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Moreover, the location is just perfect. You are in walkable distance to the night market and surrounded by buzzing atmosphere.

Hotel centrally located near Starlight Night Market. Room very good. With comfortable bed, 65" LED TV, washing machine & free washing detergent. But swimming pool under maintenance. Will come back in future.

The free pick up service from the train station was excellent. Big luxury van, but the hotel is more like a service apt or air bnb . Lobby on second floor very dingy. But rooms ok with somewhat river view. Bathtub is a fake one. It is literally only there and you can move the whole tub with one hand. Plus is your own washing machine in the room. Breakfast is at a different location and mediocre food. Swimming pool under renovation they said. Very touristy area but convenient. Traffic can be crazy.
