Jianshui Qianyu Scenic Homestay

I had the most beautiful stay in Jianshui. The hotel was clean, bright and very comfortable. The hospitality was fantastic, which as a solo traveller I was very grateful for. I was given tea and fruit on arrival and the laoban introduced me to all the key spots in Jianshui and sent me recommendations of food spots too. I was given a delicious breakfast with some of the best congee I've had in China! I really felt at home. The location is fantastic, right in the old town on a beautiful side street with a peaceful quaint atmosphere. The hotel also organised a taxi to take me onto my next destination - thank you both for a wonderful stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Very friendly and helpful host who not only provide excellent services but went the extra mile by helping book the transport to our next destination . The place is also beautifully decorated .

We had an amazing time in Jianshui thanks to the hospitality and kindness of our hosts. We felt welcomed as in their home and we loved chatting over tea and fruits in the afternoon and trying some grilled tofu all together in the evening! We even received some roses for our bedroom when our hosts learnt that it was our honeymoon. We would love to come back!

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the owner for the wonderful BBQ Doufu gathering they organized for all the guests. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture, and it truly made our stay even more memorable. The effort they put into bringing everyone together, preparing the delicious food, and creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere did not go unnoticed. It was a joy to meet the other guests, share stories, and enjoy the fantastic BBQ Doufu in such a beautiful setting. Their hospitality and attention to detail made the evening truly special. This homestay is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience filled with warmth, care, and a sense of community. We are so grateful for the memories we’ve made here, and the BBQ gathering was the perfect highlight of our time. Very hospitable and helpful hosts and staff. Helped us arrange a car to go to the rice terraces and for driving around the outskirts too see the sights. Minus one star for lack of refrigerator but this is not very unusual for China.

This guesthouse exceeded all our expectations. The incredibly lovely and helpful owners treated us so well, we were made to feel like family. As first time China travellers with no language skills we so benefitted from their local knowledge and they wen out of their way to make our stay the best it can be. We were invited to have grilled tofu with the other guests and loved the atmosphere of this B&B. The room was sparkling clean, the bed very comfortable and we had all we needed. The breakfast was superb and they catered very well to our dietary needs (vegetarians). The location is also great for visiting the ancient city. Do yourself a favour and stay there if you visit Jianshui.
