Shaloha Guesthouse on Supertubes

Amazing Stay! We absolutely LOVED our stay here! We were celebrating our honeymoon and we had a gorgeous ocean facing balcony, the room came with bathrobes & a mini fridge so we could chill our champagne. The room was fantastic! The staff were so friendly and we happened to be the only guests so it was very private and quiet. The communal kitchen looked lovely. Breakfast was only a few steps away at another building but you could definitely make your own in the kitchen. I highly recommend staying here.

The house is tastefully decorated, comfortable and well located. The rooms spacious and with amazing views. Prudence is a star!

We Opt to Stay Longer Each Time! Zandra is the perfect host in this gem of a guesthouse. Her staff are so lovely and keep the whole place pristine. The shared kitchen areas are amazingly well kitted out and dining beside the fireplace outside in the evening is so magical that we haven’t tried a restaurant in JBay for dinner! Everything about this place is 5+star.

Absolutely perfect location with a beautiful view. The house is located in a prime spot close to a stunning surfers beach, but still remains private. There were security guards around the area, so felt pretty safe too. (really impressed with the changes JBay's council/municipality made- JBay looked clean and safe). The house is decorated beautifully and the staff were super helpful and kept us really comfortable during our stay. We had braais/bbq's daily while watching surfers come & go. Fabulous kitchen - we had the house to ourselves and it really felt like home away from home with everything you could need available. Walking distance to the shops and fabulous beaches. Thank you Zandra - we will be back :-)

This review is relatively objective, this being my 16th road trip staying at 14 properties over a 39 night period. We stayed for 6 nights in March. Due to our previously booked property being totally unsuitable we ‘lucked out’ by being ‘walk ins’ at Shaloha. Welcoming, efficient staff and owner (Zandra) Off street, secure parking. Wow - from the street there’s no clue as to the quality of this property and the superb location. Internally welcomingly modern with a luxurious atmosphere full of character without being over sanitised/all stainless steel and glass. The spacious common areas are just so well equipped and relaxing. There’s a modern very well equipped open plan kitchen area (including a Nespresso machine) for self catering.The ocean view stoep is large and well equipped - if no one is braaing a fire is lit each evening. The first floor balcony has even better views. Our first night was spent in a garden view room, which was clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped to a very high standard. Top quality bed linen. Good shower pressure. Subsequent nights were spent in a larger first floor room with great ocean views from the balcony. Again, very high room standards. Good WiFi with an inverter to provide power during load shedding. Minutes walk down to the beach for excellent walks in either direction. Nina’s eatery and shops are a few minutes walk away. Highly recommended.

Super nice house, big rooms with comfy beds and the best beach view to all the surf spots in J-bay. Very lovely hosts with good recommendations and a room upgrade for us. Best views from the balcony!
