Within 5 minutes of booking I received a rather condescending email from the owner of the hotel telling me that if I wanted to be in Jedburgh or have WiFi access I should book elsewhere. Should have taken that first email as the sign to run away as fast as I could. After that I also recieved an email stating that I couldn’t check in before a certain time (it’s almost as if she thinks I’m stupid and can’t read all this information that was available on the website I booked from). Less than 3 weeks before we were supposed to arrive, the room was cancelled, with no explanation. When I contacted the hotel, I was informed that she didn’t believe I was a real person and didn’t trust that I would actually turn up. If that was the case, why not cancel in February and make up an excuse then? I would have been none the wiser. Looks like we aren’t the only people she has done this too, seems she either likes you or hates you based on some weird system. So glad she didn’t do to us what she has done to others and cancelled as we arrived. I would however like to thank her, as we stayed somewhere much nicer where people treated us with respect.
