We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Belair Beach Hotel in Ixia. Here are my thoughts: Board Basis We opted for All Inclusive, and I would recommend this. Between the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets, we never went hungry. Breakfast included a range of cooked foods, such as fried egg, sausages, and bacon, as well as bread, pastries, and confectioneries. Lunch was my personal favourite. There is a gyros station which alternates between pork and chicken depending on the day, with pita bread, chips, and tzatziki. Depending on the day, there are burgers, pizza, and other classic lunch staples. Dinner was good, but in my opinion, not as good as the lunch selection. You had rice, a range of meat, Greek food, and seafood, as well as plain pasta and chips. Dinner also changed night by night, so it was never monotonous. It is hard to go hungry in this hotel, unless you are particularly fussy. My only issue with the All Inclusive was the drinks. The drinks themselves were fine, with a great range of cocktails to choose from (around 7-8 cocktails, “San Francisco,” “Blue Lagoon,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Jack Sparrow” etc.). I am not a beer drinker, myself, but they had your usual Greek beers, such as Mythos. Whilst the drinks tasted fine, there were no self-serve machines which would’ve eased queues. You could often find yourself stuck behind a large queue of people ordering a range of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks altogether when you yourself are only wanting a water or a Pepsi. There is a limit to the number of alcoholic drinks you can order at a time, but as there is usually only one person serving, it can still take a while to get to the front of the queue. Restaurants & Bars The buffet restaurant was clean and spacious. It never felt overcrowded. There is a lovely view of the sea from the buffet restaurant. However, I had two slight problems with the buffet restaurant: 1. Whilst the staff work incredibly hard to tidy up after and serve guests, due to the lack of self-serve machines (apart from breakfast), you can find yourself waiting until halfway through your meal until being approached for a drink. 2. The buffet restaurant area is entirely indoors. It would have been nice if there was a shaded area outdoors to eat your meal, especially during dinner. The indoor bar was usually served by two bartenders, and the queue would go down relatively quick to be served. Pool Areas The pool was incredibly spacious and very cool in temperature. It was perfect to lower your body temperature, especially in the height of the day. It is infinity pool style, and you can relax by the ledge and watch the windsurfers on the beach. There is a net at the other end of the pool for ball games, so if you would rather relax in the pool, you can avoid getting splashed by others. I would say that most of the “prime spot” sun beds (the ones to the far left of the pool by the fence) are reserved by towels quite early. People are down
