I booked Royal Bosphorus Hotel & SPA Hamam in Istanbul for 14–17 March 2025, but I left after just one night — I had to run, quite literally, for my safety. I’m now trying to recover the cost of the unused nights. • Deceptive advertising: The breakfast shown online was entirely misleading — nothing resembled the pictures. Our bathroom leaked badly, and loud construction started early in the morning, making rest impossible — especially for my elderly mother. • Unreliable service: I was promised a room change due to the noise and leaks, but later the receptionist denied it and refused to help altogether. • Unsafe and aggressive behaviour: When I asked to check out early, I was ignored. After raising my voice to be heard, the owner stormed out shouting, came dangerously close, grabbed my phone and threw it against the wall. It felt like he was about to physically attack me, and only my mother’s intervention stopped him. I left the hotel immediately, shaken and frightened. I strongly advise solo female travellers and families to avoid this hotel. It is not only unpleasant — it is dangerous
