The front desk staff of St Regis Istanbul is stellar in the way they treat and help with the needs of the hotel’s guests. I do not remember the names unfortunately, but they were very kind, helpful, and solution-oriented, and went above and beyond to help me with my requests. I had requested my personal trainer to be granted access to the hotel gym with me (as we were planning to have a gym session together), and they forfeited the additional cost of accessing the gym by a visitor and shown upmost care in handling the situation. The hotel is easily visible and situated in a busy area, which is a famous shopping district in Istanbul (best to avoid access during rush hour traffic - i.e., late afternoon to early evening). It is close to Taksim area (can be reached even by a 20-min walk) and also not far from the main financial district of the European side (i.e., Levent area is approximately 15-20 mins by car, if you avoid the rush hour). Hotel rooms run typically large (compared to European standards) and are stylishly decorated. The reception area, hotel corridors and the gym are rather dimmed (giving a cool effect, but maybe not ideal for families with kids). The hotel has a nice roof-top bar (named Spago), the breakfast is served in a restaurant next to this area in the winter, and on a perfectly situated open cafe (extension of the hotel) during the summer. You will definitely not feel like you’ve made the wrong choice, if you go for St. Regis when staying in Istanbul.
