The location of the hotel and the kindness of the staff are the only positive highlights I can tell about. I believe maybe 20 years ago it was a great place to stay. We had booked 5 nights - room 106. When we arrived in the evening and the room wasn't made up. At the door to the balcony we found a warning label that it is dangerous to enter it. The reason has been the broken but unsecured balcony from the level above (see picture). The fridge was more a heater while the cooling unit inside the fridge was covered with a very thick layer of ice. The cleanness in the fridge was limited as in the room at all. The only available socket was in the bathroom. All sealings in the bathroom are heavily corroded and hosting various cultures of mold. The shower curtain is from poor plastics with just few remaining fixation points. There have been no bulbs in the lamps at the bed and even upon request it didn't get fixed. There have been no drinking glasses available. Upon request we got few paper cups. The worst experience we made at the check out. We had an individual no-formal agreement for the room rate. The room 106 is a suite with one bedroom where we had one extra bed but at the end we got charge for a suite with 2 bedrooms (4 beds) by the way from the owner of the hotel himself at the reception. Unfortunately it was obvious that we had to catch the ferry so I didn't have the chance to discuss at this point. Conclusion: Please take care before booking MOM Hotel Büyükada it is everything else than the public advertisements makes you feel i.e. on Instagram P.S.: The picture of the broken unsecured balcony is representative for the status of maintenance of the MOM hotel at all - there is a lot to do.
