Overall, we were happy with our stay but there are a few issues to share with future travellers: the private access road is in a very poor state and needs to be navigated carefully; our room was quite small and did not not have much room for luggage; the hotel feels a little worn and in need of some tlc; our bathroom was very small and the shower walls were not as clean as they should be; and evening meal was good but cooked breakfast choice was very limited. The location is good and there’s access from the hotel to the Hebridean Way. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Spacious, clean, comfortable and Scottishly decorated room and facility. Room has patio doors leading out to a semiprivate garden. View from room and garden showcase a stunning view of the countryside! Staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, adding to a zen and relaxing atmosphere!

Had 2 nights here in the ground floor room with garden access. Beautiful presentation. Great staff - everyone was so friendly and welcoming. First night restaurant dining - superb. Second night bar dining - superb. Met lovely folk here. Also saw a stag very close on Cliff walk and obviously saw a bear in the woods .

We booked the Sunday brunch here for a 70th birthday celebration having had fantastic experiences twice earlier this year. On previous visits the banana and pecan French toast was wonderful as we're the waffles. This time, despite having booked for 11.45, the menu wasn't ready and we were kept waiting for 15 mins. Expecting the same standard of food, we waved that off. Unfortunately both lots of the waffles were resistant to sawing with the serated knife, they were dense and dry. Not at all like the light fluffy ones we had enjoyed previously. The French toast was drowned in sauce and came with banana chips rather than fresh banana leading to a sickly sweet unpleasantly textured combination. All 5 of us were disappointed with our meal and needless to say, it ruined the birthday treat. Staff were apologetic but i was still invited 3x to tip and there was no effort to reduce the significant bill. Very disappointed.

Firstly the single track road up to the Lodge is in need of urgent repair. Pot holes ensure a very slow drive, cars with low profiles beware!! Anyway once there, a warm welcome by the staff on duty. Drink prices reasonable. Not a big choice for mains, however the Venison burger sounded about the best. Wrong decision, the meat was very dry and for the three we ordered all agreed. So rather disappointed at that due to the fact we had been out walking all day and looking forward to a tasty dinner, unfortunately not the case.

We had so looked forward to stay at Langass after reading all the fab reviews. As it was Suday and most places are closed and we had travelled for quite a long time we thought we would chillax in our beautiful room. But…. Instead we got a room that we quickly named ”the cupboard over the stairs”. This was in the old part of the building and so small that there was no space for our bags and no space to sit or be. The bed was so narrow we could not sleep and the room being right over the kitchen also made it impossible to rest. The sounds from the kitchen and the kitchen fan stopped around 23.30 the first night and in the morning we got woken up by a cheery ”good morning” at 6 from staff arriving. The room also got whiffs of deep-fry. It felt as if the room was part of the kitchen, Of course, this room should not ever be rented out, it is of something from the 19th century, dreary and terrible. We had to pay full price for it. When we said we could not stay in this room we were shown the neigbhoring one with a warning that it was right beside the kitchen fan. Well, the room we had was just as affected. We where laughing when trying to use our key holder as a magic wand and maybe transform the room with a Expecto spell. People working at Langass are nice enough but not really interested. The feeling was that they have nothing to say but only can repeat som orders they got. It is as if you as a guest is more a hinder to their work than a person that are there for vacation. On the bright side, the food is really good and also the pillows. The room was very clean. Langass is very dreary old style and we were singing happy songs when we left!

We booked and ate in the bar. The service was very good and the food was amazing. Starters of duck satay salad and the most amazing fish cake with garlic mayonnaise. The food was clearly home made and super tasty. Main course was haggis needs and tatties with peppercorn sauce and a gluten free fish and chips with amazing crispy batter. Both delicious. I really wanted a local lamb burger but it was sold out. The haggis did not disappoint though.

The splendid company, Hebridean HopScoth Holidays, based in Stornoway, organised our recent most enjoyable tour of the Hebrides from Oban to Ullapool and on to Gairloch, arranging all our ferry crossings and hotel stays but only after detailed discussions with us. Everything went well, nothing more so than our two stays at Langlass Lodge, the intended one of two days duration, the second unintended one for one day only. My car broke down a few miles from the hotel on our journey there from Barra. A member of the hotel’s staff picked us up and, after transferring all our luggage to his car, took us not just to the hotel but also helped carry our suitcases to our very comfortable bedroom. Dinner was delayed permitting our car to be collected to be transported to the exceptional Laing Motors Ltd in Lochboisdale for repair. The hotel accommodated us for a further night to enable us to collect the once again fully functional car. This country house hotel lies about half a mile along a drive from the main road in a very peaceful, quiet country setting, one where you can forget all the cares of your day-to-day life. Our bedroom on our first stay was very spacious situated in the newer extension, with spectacular views overlooking the nicely laid out hotel gardens and the moors and loch beyond, on our second visit we enjoyed an equally well appointed, but smaller, room in the original building, more than adequate for a short stay but, perhaps, less adequate if staying for a few days, and who would not wish to spend a few days here! Breakfast was served in the dining room where we also dined on our first visit but ate our evening meal in the bar on our return visit. The food was equally freshly prepared and beautifully presented but the menu was less comprehensive in the bar, so much so that we would recommend reserving a table in. the dining room for evening meals. The Hebrides boast some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and extraordinarily friendly inhabitants, doing their best to make anyone’s visit there one of, if not indeed the most memorable holidays of anyone’s life. A day or two in Langlass Lodge is essential to fully appreciate the wonders of these islands.

Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff close to a Stone Circle and Burial Mound and the tomb of Hercules the Bear. Delicious locally sourced food, and an interesting and varied menu. We didn’t get to use the furniture in the lovely gardens because of the constantly inclement weather…..
