An amazing dinner in fabulous surroundings, really made it feel a special night out in preparation for Christmas. As u can see from the photographs exceptional plates of food at every course. A substantial choice and outstanding flavours and textures to excite the tastebuds. The hospitality and service is perfection personified. Do not miss any opportunity you have to visit this very special place.

The food at this Hotel is one of the best we have ever known in the Lakes, presentation fantastic the fillet steak and the lobster were amazing. The hotel staff and the owners extremely friendly and welcoming. Wifi very weak but not a problem once you get used to it. Would definately recommend and will definately make a return visit.

Just returned from 3 relaxing nights at Overwater Hall. The service is excellent with very attentive staff. The evening meal is the highlight of the day , food was fantastic. A hidden gem in the Northern Lakes where you are made to feel very welcome. Looking forward to returning later in the year

Beautifully presented food cooked to perfection. Honestly the nicest 3 courses we’ve had for a long time and huge value for money. I had the Quail starter, Scallops main & Frangipane dessert - all amazing! Lovely, welcoming staff too - will definitely be back!

For those familiar with middle earth..Overwater Hall is " The Last Homely House" (in the West)...Rivendell . Lady Angela, and Lords Adrian and Stephen are a unique blend of long standing magic and spirit. Together they have created a haven ...(not the grey one!).. but an incredible experience. We class ourselves as their friends and allies and urge any mortal to visit their domain.. it is truly unique. Maybe overdone the Tolkien, but we are constantly thrilled and amazed at what they do for us. Totally the best hotel in the lakes... everyone.................... ( elf/dwarf/men) please go and see for yourself! Foot note - for non PC references.. please take in the spirit that it is meant .Rob and Judith Scott ❤️

We booked for my husband's birthday dinner. I can honestly say from the moment we were welcomed in the experience was excellent. The meal was absolutely outstandingly good. Each of the 3 courses was beautifully presented and the combination of flavours and the quality of the cooking was completely delicious. If I had been a Michelin star assessor, I would have awarded the highest accolade. We both thought it was possibly the very best meal esten in a restaurant in our whole lives. That was the quality of the food and service from rhe staff. Just perfect. Mighty congratulations to the truly excellent chef and staff at Overwater Hall hotel

We went for a special birthday one evening since we have a nearby caravan. The only word we can think of to describe the whole experience is 'outstanding'. Food, service, ambience, everything: outstanding. The owners have been doing this for 31 years (imagine: chef/(part)owner has been a classy restaurant chef for 31 years. He has learnt how to cook.) Cuisine: probably unimprovable at the price. Service: outstanding. Decor: classy, gorgeous. Price: 3-course meal for two: £200 including recommended wine by the glass for each course (service not included). Dress: smart casual (no jeans, for example). Menu changes every day depending on the whim of the chef. All ingredients locally sourced wherever possible. Summary: not cheap, but outstanding.

Visited for 6th time. As always hospitality and food were fantastic. Adrian, Angela and Stephen run first class hotel wonderfully supported by great staff. Kat the wine expert is brilliant. Our dog Tess loves the canine company. We will be back

I found this Hotel by browsing the Internet, everything about this place was excellent from the staff , food the bedrooms very clean , nothing was too much trouble for the Staff. From Kat to Steve & Angela. I would highly recommend this Hotel surrounded in its own gardens excellent place to stay if its peace and quiet you need to take away your negatively. We will be back.
